Chicago Mrs. Fred Dust, an East Chicago, Ind., housewife, who will be placed in a hypnotic trance for five days as an ex periment: '"I'm much more creative under the spell of hypnosis." f M 4 BUTTE FALLS Dogwood in Blossom Again By MARY JO HARRIS Butte Falls At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Finch in Butte Falls, a dogwood tree is in bloom for the second time this year. The blooms are nor mal against a background of autumn-red leaves. The tree bloom ed twice last year but the sec ond bloom had only one petal. The buds are dropping as usual in the fall but the tree is still blooming and is reported to be a lovely sight. Dough Finch is the District Assistant Ranger of the Butte Falls station. Falls were Mrs. Bob Cupples, Mrs. Keith Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Smetzer, Miss Julie Pingle, Mrs. Floyd Price, Mrs. Doug Finch and Bob McUne. Mrs. Robert Beeman and chil dren, Bruce and Gloria of Wen atchee, Wash., were August visi tors at the Doug Finch home. While here Mrs. Beeman, a form er resident, visited with old acquaintances. I 4 53T Labor Day guests in the Don Jolliffe home were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Nolan of Redding. Virgil was an engineer on the Willow creek dam project three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Wood ! of Elgin, Oregon, were recent guests in the Virgil Conley home. The Woods are the par ents of Mrs. Conley. While in the Rogue river valley the Woods visited with another daughter, Mrs. Melvin Taylor and family, of Medford. The Butte Falls Lions and auxiliary held a joint installa tion in late August at the Butte Falls hotel. Prior to the program and installation a ham dinner was served by the auxiliary. The rirosram consisted of a reading by Mrs. William L. Har ris, two piano numbers by Miss Julie Pingle and a community sing led by Mrs. William Harris and accompanied by Mrs. Roger Harris. Mrs. Larry Shcehan of Rogue River installed the incoming offi cers of the auxiliary. They are Mrs. Glen Cathey, president; Mrs. Roger Harris, vice - presi dent; Mrs. William Harris,, sec retary; Mrs. F. E. Poole, treas urer and Mrs. Al Ilartlerode, tail twister. Doug Finch installed the in comng officers of the Lions club. They are F. E. Poole, president; Bruce Pingle, vice - president; Bill Harris, secretary-treasurer; Roger Harris, lion tamer: Glen Cathey, tail twister and Page Stauffer, director. Following installation, district governor Larry Sheehan of Rogue River gave a short talk on Lionism. Guests attending were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shcehan. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rickstein. deputy district governor, of Talent, and Mrs. Dick Walker of Portland. Guests attending from Butte Recently visiting with the Bur rell Facey family was Earl White of Tacoma, Wash. Mrs. Facey is a niece of Earl and this visit was their first meeting. Miss Sherry Tygart celebrated her sixth birthday at a party given in her honor at the fish hatchery Sunday, Sept. 15. Sher ry is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tygart.
