Thefts Admitted By 14-Year-Olds Two 14-year-old boys have been released to the custody of their parents by police pending action of juvenile authorities, after they admitted committing 11 minor thefts in the city dating back to late 1956, according to city police. The juveniles were first ar rested on Sept. 14 when they were caught taking 12 cans of beer from Rose's Grocery, 201 West Jackson. They sold the beer to a 16-year-old friend who is also in the custody of his parents, pending action by juv enile authorities, on charges of being in possession of stolen goods. Admit Other Thefts While being questioned about the beer theft the boys admitted to 10 other thefts. Police said they told of taking two boxes of 22 caliber shells from a parked truck belonging to Gerald Ray mond Doty, 1222 Locust st., while it was parked in front of his home on Sept. 10. In late August the boys ad mitted taking $1.20 worth of small articles from the Newber ry's store at 36 North Central ave. and several small articles from the F. W. Woolsworth store 36 North Central about last Christmas. The boys said they took sev eral small articles from the Gro ceteria Super market, 200 West Sixth st. in late 1956. They also said they had taken several mag azines from the Western Thrift store, 30 North Central ave., about August 1. On Sept. 1 the boys said they had taken $1.50 worth of small items from Hudsons' Drugs, 613 East Main st. They told of tak ing a stainless steel latch from the men's restroom of the Wheel er Shell station, 348 North Riv erside ave., about Sept. 1 and several small articles from the Big Y Super Market, North Pa cific highway, about the first of the month. The juveniles said they took a few items from Piggly Wiggly Store No. two, 745 Stewart ave. about Sept. 4. They also said they had taken two boxes of shotgun shells from a car park ed in front of 107 West Clark st. during the week of August 15. Explosion Rips Through Oakland Milling Plant Oakland, Calif. (IB An explosion ripped through the huge Albers Milling Co. plant here Monday, injuring at least 13 persons. The blast rocked the eight story building, collapsing one floor.
