WUliim Frank Pari Jr. 8 (LandU photo) PerURipfl Marriage Rites Held in o Presbyterian Church An event of August IS wai the wedding of Miss Margaret Ann Ripfl to William Frank Perl Jr. The bride is a daugh ter of Mm. Matthew Ripfl, 1123 Dakota avenue, and the bride groom is a ton of Mr. and Mrs. William Frank Perl, 136 North Oakdale avenue. The ceremony took place at First Presbyterian church at 7 o'clock in the evening, with Dr. D. Kirkland West reading the double-ring rites. The reception was held in the church parlors, with about 275 guests attending. Preceding the ceremony Otis Swisher sang, and C. Olin Rice was at the organ. The bride's gown of imported Chantilly lace over ivory satin was fashioned with fittedQod ice, deep portrait neckline and long sleeves. The very full rhapel sweep skirt of tulle had scalloped panels of lace in front and back. The bride's fingertip length veil of silk illusion was caught into a laee queen's crown, embroidered with pearls and sequins. She carried white carnations centered with a white orchid. Miss Rosalinda Ripfl was honor attendant for her sister, and bridesmaids were Miss Jonna Lou Henson, Miss Gloria Haggard and Miss Ruth Little, Winnipeg, Canada. They wore Identical ballerina length frocks of pastel crystalette fashioned princess style with back drap ery of deeper harmonizing shades. The colors were pink, orchid, green and yellow. Each wore a bandeau of crystalette and satin slippers to match her gown, and carried white earns tions with ribbon to match. Little Robin Zundel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zundel, Springfield, and a niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. She wore a pastel blue crystal ette floor-lAgth frock and car ried a basket of petals. Dr. William J. Miller escorted the bride to the altar and ushers were Hugh G. Simpso, Freder ick G. Lagergren, John R. Dumas and Manville Heisel, with Mr. Heisel serving as head usher. All are fellow officers of the bridegroom in the United States Air Force reserve here. Arrangements of pink and white gladiolus and candles dec orated the church. The reception was held in the church parlors. Mrs. W. H. Reich stein, Mrs. Donald Hemingway, Mrs. Warren Olsen and Mrs. Edwin Durno cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. Floyd Baker and Mrs. Ivan Harrington poured punch, Mrs. Richard Wat son, Mrs. Warren Hamlin,' Mrs. Royal Bebb and Mrs. Jack Walk er served the coffee. Miss Char lotte Riley took charge of the guest book. Table appointments were white gladioli and tapers. The bride's mother wore a blue lace bolero frock with white accessories and white orchid cor sage for the wedding and recep tion. The bridegrqom's mother wore a dress of champagne col ored lace with cummerbund and back panel of chiffon, matching accessories and brown orchid corsage. Mr. Perl and his bride sailed from San Francisco on the Lur- Grants Pass Girl To Become Bride Of James Kelly Grants Pass Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth F. Paquin, 850 North Tenth street. Grants Pass, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Joan, to Ed ward James Kelly, son of Judge and Mrs. Edward C. Kelly, 906 West Fourth street, Medford. Miss Paquin was graduated from Grants Pass High school in 1956, having been active in music and art. A member of Art-For Service during her sen ior year, she won two top awards for her entries in the Spring Art festival. She won a scholarship to Medford Beauty college and completed her eourse there in July. She will go to Portland for her state beard examinations in Septem ber. Mr. Kelly was graduated from St. Mary's High school in Med ford In 1953 and from the Uni versity of Santa Clara, Califor nia in June of this year, taking special work toward a teachers degree from San Jose State col lege. He is employed in IBM work at Bear Creek orchards. The wedding date has been set November 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Medford. i Cynthia Jackson To Arrive Home Miss Cynthia Jackson, whose wedding to Patrick Ford of Stockton, Calif., .has been set for September 14, will arrive home today from San Francisco where she has been living in re cent months. The wedding will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic churcn. A number of parties are planned for Miss Jackson anfl for her fiance, who will arrive here September 7. He will be ac companied by his brother, Ter rence, also of Stockton. For traveling the bride wore a wool suit in apricot color with black and white accessories. After their return to Cali fornia the bridegroom will re port it McClellan Air Force base at San Diego for a short term of duty and later the couple will live in San Francisco where Mr. Perl will attend San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. The bride was graduated from Medford Higlj school in June and has been employed by Lippert theaters here. Mr. Perl, born and reared in Medford, attended school here and was graduated from the University of Oregon where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served with the Air Force as a first lieutenant, spending two years in England. He is now associated with his father in business. In Medford for the wedding were the bridegroom's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zundel, Springfield; Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Zundel, Eu gene; and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Paxon, Beaverton. rFormer Residents Guests at Parties Three former Medford resi dents were honored at a bridge luncheon given Tuesday after noon by Mrs. Glenn Harrison at her home on Kings highway. Honored were Mrs. George Wil son, Portland, Mrs. Irvin Miller, Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. E. S Degman, Wenatchee, Wash. Guests at the party and the hostess all formerly played in the same bridge club Tuesday evening s group of Dr. and Mrs. Degman's friends gathered at the Harrison home for a picnic dinner in their honor. The Wilsons, Millers and Deg mans all left the middle of the week after brief visits in Med ford. The Degmans were accom panied by their youngest son, Bfflj. , r Bride-Elect Guest At Shower Party; Wedding Saturday Miss Donna Zeitler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald D. Zeit ler, 1111 West Ninth street, was honored guest at a bridal show er Wednesday evening, August 21, at the home of Mrs. Dean Norman, 3264 Forrest avenue. Hostesses were Mrs. Norman, Mrs. Donald Gyspers and Mrs, Marge Bevel. Over forty guests gathered on the patio where the gifts were opened. Garden lanterns, pink gladioli and white wedding bells formed the decorations. In dividual wedding cakes, and other refreshments were served. Miss Zeitler will become the bride of Fred Rawson August 31st in a 2 o'clock ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The wedding will take place soon. Miss Lucas Js employed at Montgomery Ward and company, and her fiance will attend Ore gon Technical Institute at Klam ath Falls this ' fall. Both are graduates of Medford High school with the class of 1956. Two Couples Host For Recent Party Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Mencke and Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Haupert were hosts for a party August 17, entertaining guests at the Haupert home, 222 Valley View drive. About 100 attended be tween 5 and 7:30 o'clock. The serving table was ar ranged with summer flowers. Among the guests were Mr. Meneke's brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. R. K. Dono hue. Grand Rapids. Mich., who made a brief visit .here last week end. Couples Attend Plays in Ashland Among the many couples in southern Oreogn last week to at tend the Oregon Shakespearean festival plays were Dr. and Mrs. O. Meredith Wilson, . Eugene, Mr. and Mrs. William Haseltine, their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Haseltine, Portland. Dr. Wilson Is president of the University of Oregon. The Wil sons and William Haseltines were in the valley for most of the week, while the James Haseltines drove from -Portland for one performance. Dr. Wilson and Mr. Haseltine Sr., played golf at the Rogue Valley Coun try club.. Wednesday noon Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. William Haseltine were luncheon guests of Mrs. C. Ivan Burton at her home on Rich mond avenue. Friday evening the Haseltines , were dinner guests of the Burtons before at tending the play in Ashland. Dr. and Mrs. Wilson, enthus iastic festival patrons, attend the plays each summer. It was the first visit for the Haseltines, but they expressed pleasure over their vaction here and the plays, and plan to return next summer. Mrs. Haseltine, former news paper reporter and free lance writer, 'is the author of a play which was produced by the Port land Civic theater. Also here to attend the plays are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Car penter, Carmel, Calif., who form erly lived in Medford. Old Stage road. 4 Golden Wedding To Be Observed A reception will be held Sun day, September 1, at the Girls Community club in celebration of the golden wedding anniver sary of Mr. and Mrs. E. M, Lovell, 526 Edwards avenue. The' Lovells have made their home in Medford since 1927. Appropriate games were played during the afternoon. - Three Give Party For Bride-Elect . Miss Sally Jo Lindgren, bride- elect of Gerald Christensen, was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower Tuesday night. The shower was an outdoor event held in the Rogue River Academy school park. Mrs. George Beltz, Mrs. Mal calm McCarty, and Mrs. Thom as Kennaday were hostesses, and Miss Marge Hanson, and Miss Norma Brainard were in charge of games. There were approxi mately 35 guests. The wedding.is to be held September 1 in The Vadley View Seventh -day Adventist church. The bride-to-be is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Lindgren, 34 North Peach street and Mr. Christensen's parents are Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Christensen, Winema way. Both Miss Lindgren and her fiance are graduates of Rogue River academy and are students at Walla Walla College, College Place, Wash., where they will make their home this fall. Dunns Here Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn and their three children, Jacki, Kelly and Kerry of Redlands, Calif., are visiting relatives and friends in Medford.
