August 22, I9S7 Fareweli Part Honors Fmily; Group at Camp Butte Falls Butte Falls Com munity Bble church sponsored a fareweiT dinner for Mr. j.d Mrs. Brittain Ash and their sons, Donevan and Terry, in the social room of the church August 19. Mr. Ash has been transferred from his office as forest ranger of the ogue River natiorl for est to Ketchikan, Alaska. Done van Ash will accompany his father by plane next week to K9chikan. Mrs. Ash will continue her work as dean of girls at Crater High school in Central Point. Terry ill remain with her. At the end of the school year they will join Mr. Ash and Donevan in Alaska. Games and songs, and pre sentation of a farewell gilt were the features of the evening which followed the dinner. Senior Bible camp started at Lake of the Woods Monday. Those attending from the local church are Virginia Ann Mc Allister, Martha Dalton, Philip Crammer, Jim Irwin, Jerry Fer geson, Larry Cavin, Cody Ram bo and Ira Rambo. The Rev. Howard Simmons Is one of the counselors at the camp which will continue through this wed. Those who attended junior camp for girls last week were Daiene McAllister, Judy Burg, Robin Lee Simmonds, Darlene Edmondson, Linda McAllister and Susan Crammer. Brumitt Family Guests in Medford Master Sgt. and Mrs. Ruel Brumitt and children, Clint and Julie, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Burroughs, 827 Gilman road. Sergeant Brumitt is being transferred to Bend, Ore. with the Ground Observer corps after being in the Philippines for the last three years. The family flew from Clark field to Travis Air Force base in California and will visit in Pen dleton, Ore., before going to Bend. FaU can be used over and over if they are strained after each usage. Birthday Dinner Honors Talent Man Talent A dinner in honor of Thomas J. Bell on his 85th birth day anniversary was held at the Bell's home in Talent August 18. Present were Mrs. AdaWill born, Medford; Thomas M. Bell, Riddle, Ore., a grandson of the honored man; another grandson, DarreH A. Bell and his family of Yreka, Calif., and a granddaugh ter, Mrs. Dallas Reeder and fam ily, Provolt, Ore. Dance Set Waggin Wheelers Square Dance club will hold a dance Saturday, August 24 at the Square Corral near Camp White. Kenneth Howe will be guest caller. The public Is invited to at tend. Refreshments will be pot luck. Plan Dance Medford Jaycettes will hold an informal dance Saturday, August 24 at 8 p.m. at the Smith Barn on Griffin Creek road. They will attend performances of the Oregon Shakespearean Festival in Ashland. For instance. Quad coat, skir lotte and campus strutter. B. Altaian and company, one New- York store, as a public service to the puzzled coed, has compiled and published an "un abridged dictionary of 1957 col lege fashions. With the store's permission, here are excerpts, with a couple of my own rung in. Big Brother Sweater: Casual knit patterned after a fashion popularized by Elder Male Sib ling, who " gets straight "A's" and is captain of a football team. Black Crepe adjective: Fash ion revival, as in black crepe dress. Smooth! , Campus Strutter: A dashing sports coat, iu wool, leather, oil skin, etc. Car Coat: Not too long, not too short, perfect to wear over shorts. (IP) Elvis Presley's father decided Wed nesday against prosecuting six Whitehaven High School foot ball players who tried to make off with the Presley lawn furni ture. Newark Man Named Moose High Governor Spokane W Ralph A. Villani, Newark, N.J., was ! elected supreme governor of the Loyal Order of Moose at their international convention here Wednesday. He succeeds George Young of Spokane, who be comes junior past governor. Others elected were Henry F. Wallenwein, junior governor, and Judge Louis K. Thaler of j Ithaca, N.R., supreme prelate. j Fred Zabel, Aurora, 111., was re- j elected for the fifth time as su-1 preme treasurer. The official convention ball I Wednesday night was to honor I Supreme Governor and Mrs. Young. More than 3,500 dele-i gates have registered for the ' convention. Fori Stevens State Park To Be Dedicated Astoria ilPi Fort Stevens state par near Warrenton will be dedicated Sunday.
