Bonnie won a blue ribbon, which Miss Lucy is admiring, on her dress and -blouse entry in the "teen-age Miss" class. Judging in the class was made on quality of the items rather than competition. Local and Shaving Burned A truck load of shavings caught fire near the Meriford Gun club Tuesday, the Central Point rural fire department reported. The load of shavings was dumped alongside the road to save the truck. Some of the grass was burned on the Medford Gun club property, but no other damage was reported. These were dis covered during inspections of one public garage, an apartment house and four business occupan cies. Cal houn reported that the car was parked at his residence and was driven sometime during last Ashland The city council last night voted to extend city water service to nine residences in the Bellview area. A report was made to the council on the suc cess of painting arrows at the intersection of Oak st. and High way 99 to direct traffic. Assumes Name Mrs. Louise Milani, 401 East McAndrews rd., has assumed the business name of Milani . Truck Rental. Mrs. Milani was formerly associated with the Pioneer Truck Rental company and William Carlson Inc. of Klamath Falls. Equip ment to rent will be entirely diesel, Mrs. Milani said, and will include semi-flat bed trail ers and low-boys. Eagles Meet The Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold its weekly business meeting in the hall at 219 West Main street to morrow at 8 p.m. Full initiation will be followed by refresh ments. Plans will be made also for the district convention to be held in Roseburg next month and for fall and winter activities. Cars Collide Central Point city police reported an auto acr cident Monday at the intersection of highway 99 and Oak st. Cars involved were driven by Ralph Hartley, route 1, box 447, Cen tral Point, and Eunice Fisher, Stockton, Calif. No one was in jured and no citations were is sued, police said. Here From Reseda Mr. and Mrs. George P. Molloy and son, George Jr., of Reseda, Calif., left this morning for McMinnville where they will spend over a week of their vacation visiting relatives. Obituaries BETTY E. WEYTHERS Mrs. Betty ' E. Weythers, a frequent Medford visitor, died in Spokane Aug. 15, her sister Mrs. Nettie Grover, 806 Adams Lane, reported. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Weythers' remains were buried in Spokane where she has lived for many years. Services were held in Spokane Monday. JOSEF HOLDENER Josef B. Holdener, 62, South Pacific highway, died in Jack sonville on Tuesday. Funeral services are tentatively set for Saturday morning" in Sacred Heart Catholic church, with Chapel Mortuary in charge. INFANT GIRL WALTER Graveside services for the in fant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Walter, of 1127 Saling St., who died Sunday, were held this afternoon at Siskiyou Memorial park. Out-of-State Cars Hit Cars driven by Richard Brown Hast ings, 320 Cherry Lane in Sew ard, Nebraska, and Charles En och Hunt, 1396 Ferger ave., in Fresno, Calif, were involved in an accident at South Central and Ninth st. on Tuesday eve ning. Parked Car Hit Lila Camp bell, 714 West 11 st., was driver of a car involved in an accident with a parked car owned by Ben Franklin Allison, 1027 West 10th st. The accident took place in the 1000 block of Tenth st. on Tuesday afternoon, police said. Condition Fair Ron Peery, who was injured in ths Satur day night baseball game be tween the Medford Cheney Studs and Ashland-Talent, is re ported in fair condition at Rogue Valley hospital. The Med ford high student suffered a severe concussion, when struck in the head by a ball. Hits Culvert Dale William King, 1045 East Main st., lost control of his car while travel ing on. North Modoc - st. near Ruhl Way, hit a steel post and came to a stop on a concrete culvert, according to city police. The post and culvert are on the property of Victor S. Runaways Apprehended Two juvenile runaways, 14 and 15 years old from Yuba City, Calif., are being held by Jackson coun ty juvenile authorities, Ashland city police reported today. The pair were caught as they were getting off a freight train at Ash land depot. Their parents will be notified to pick them up, it was reported. The girl, whose clothing was torn by the attacker, was walk ing home from a restaurant when the attempt took place.
