The show will begin at 1:30 p.m. Next Saturday's movie will be "Hoppy's Bar 20 Jus tice" with Hopalong Cassidy. Also there will be a comedy Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tharp had si guests last week end Sgt. and Mrs. Bud Orlow who stopped over on their way from Arizona to Ft. Lewis, Wash. Mrs. Harold Van Dyke and Mrs. Marie Michael of Central Point returned recently from a month-long vacation. They visit ed their mother, Mrs. Jim Breight, of Savannah, Mo. They also visited other relatives in Missouri and Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Trautman returned July 11 after a month's vacation. They visited relatives in Nebraska, Minnesota and South Dakota. They brought back their niece. Miss Janie Boes, from Big Falls, Minn., for a visit. Visiting last week at the A. B. Holt home were Mrs. Lou Roberts of Lakeview and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis of Rose burg. After visiting here they went to Canada. Mrs. R. R. Lawton is home from California, where she was railed by the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. H. H. Wardrip, who was in the hospital at Ox nard. Mrs. Wardrip is improved and able to be at home in Fill more, Mrs. Lawton said. Besides visiting her parents, Mrs. Law ton also visited her sister and family, the L. L. Stoddards of San Fernando. Daniel Leonard, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Leonard, is at Brownsboro visiting his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and family of Gibbon rd. recent ly camped out for a week along the beach. They visited many points along the coast, going as far north as Bandon. , Charla Jo Meyer spent a few days last week with the Don Pattersons at Lake of the Woods. She also spent a week recently in Salem visiting at the home of her cousins, the Mr. and Mrs. Scheidman and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Arm strong are now home after a month's vacation. They went to Atchison, Kan., to visit Mrs. Armstrong's father who was 95 years old on July 11. They also visited other relatives in Kan sas, Missouri, New Mexico and California. Monday evening. Royal Green man Jr. and Ralph Waldo went to Selma where they will camp out. Railway Express Strike Nears End Chicago lip A 13-week-old strike of 2.000 Railway Express Agency drivers in seven major cities appeared headed for final settlement today. Local 720, Railway Express Drivers Union, representing 1000 Chicago area employees, accept ed the latest company offer Mom day night. James E. O'Hara, secretary-treasurer of the local, said the offer included a 15 cent hour ly pav boost retroactive to Jan. 16, 1956. O'Hara said strikers in Cleve land and San Francisco have ap proved the new terms. Union members in Philadelphia reject ed it by a vote of 195 to 80. PROSPECT Several Visitors Listed By GENEIL SPRUILL Prospect Mr. and Mrs. Ar nold Farris of Delano, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farris of Bakersfield, have been spending the past week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Artie Holmes. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Spruill re turned to their home Sunday after spending theic vacation in Utah. Miss Sue Bets also went to Utah with the Spruills. Arlene and Warren Ashby, of Murray, Utah, are guests at the home of their aunt and uncle. Miss Norma Jean Bauldry celebrated her 10th birthday Sunday, July 14, by having a party. Among the people attending the Missionary Alliance church ramp at Canby are Miss 11a Mae Higginbotham, Mrs. Edward Hig ginbotham, Gloria, Sue, and Sandy Higginbotham, Mary Head, Corolyn Leonard, David Helm, the Rev. and Mrs. Kroon and family. Mrs. Mead, and the Rev. and Mrs. Lewis Collins. Mr. and Mrs. David Allison re turned Friday, after a two weeks visit in Redding, Calif., at t h e home of David Allison's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Allison. W hile they were there, they also visited the Allison's sister, Miss Joan Allison, of Buckeye, Ariz. Airman second class, Gerald Hall arrived Sunday for a 37 day leave before going to Japan He is visiting friends and rela tives in the Central Point area Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Johnson and children of Central Point, Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Simmons, Terry and Elwin Simmons, and Teddy Stamper of Medfcrd and Billy Womelsdorf of Eagle Point had a picnic on Elk creek. Sun day. Later, Terry and Elwin Simmons, Teddy Stamper, Billy and Vale Womelsdorf went over on the Umpqua divide where they will camp for a few days. Recent guests at the Ole Lar son home on the Old Stage rd.. were Mrs. Larson's mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Montgomery of Redwood Falls, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Mey er and daughter. Charla Jo. re cently took a trip to San Frar cisco and Santa Cruz, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Green man went to Ashland Sunday to see their new grandson. The baby was born Saturday morn ing, July 13, and has been named Ralph Greggs Greenman. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph G. Greenman of Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Gunnar Nelson recently returned from a three week vacation. They visited with friends in Wisconsin and in Michigan. . ... , Thirty-seven attended a party shower for Vickie Loueze Tra cer, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvel Tracter, at the home of Mrs. Pat Goodman. Mrs. Vera Smeader was co-hostess. William Phillippi and Carl Smith visited Kenneth Struck Monday en route from Wasing ton to San Francisco where they will sail for Hawaii. Phillippi was stationed on Guam with Struck for two years in the Navy. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Larson recently were Larson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Larson, and his brother, John, and family, all of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Grant and sons spent the week vacationing at the coast and at the home of their daughter in Eureka, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. George Governor and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Colley and Mrs. James Pope went to Redmond over the week end and visited the Petersons Rock Garden. Ladies of the WCTU met Tues day, July 9, at the home of Mrs. Dee Hedgepeth. Potluck dinner was served. Patty Poole, four - year - old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poole, fell out of the car Monday afternoon en route to Prospect from her home. She was not in jured. . Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Poole have returned from a fishing trip to the coast. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Larson and family did some salmon fishing on the coast over the week end.
