United Press Science Editor
Delos Smith has just completed
extensive investigation into the
most controversial and interest

search for a cure for cancer.
It centers around the sub

Dr. Andrew Conway Ivy of the
University of Illinois, one of the
nation's recognized cancer ex

that in Krebiozen they have
found a drug which has been
tried in hundreds of cancer
cases and proved to be success

to find if it is the answer to
cancer.

Tennessee Disease
Declared Not Polio
Nashville, Tenn. up Dr. C.
B. Tucker, director of the pre
ventable disease department of
the State Health Department,
said Wednesday that tests show
the disease that struck 43 per
sons in Johnson City, Tenn., is
not polio.
Tucker said tests made from
the virus from victims showed
that the disease is non-paralytic,
probably coxsackie or "echo,"
both very much like polio.
Red meat production in 1957
is lagging behind 1956.
