The Rev. and Mrs. George Gray and their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ortis Seat, and Wendell, spent a short vaca tion in Seattle recently, where they attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mrs. Gray's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maib. The two familes also visited Mr. Gray'i brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gray at Seattle, and another brother and his wife. Dr. and Mri. A. F. Gray at Portland. Dr. Gray recently retired as presi dent of a Portland Bible college. Mn. G. G. Etherton. mother of Clint Etherton of Cave Junc tion, arrived last week to visit her family here. Mrs. John Milburn returned to Cave Junction briefly this week, before leaving for Los Angeles with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Neff. The three have been on a three weeks trip in the middle west, which took them to New Mexico, Colorado, Woyming, Idaho, Mon tana and Arizona. He will have his arm in a cast for several weeks. Summer soft ball got under way here last Thursday when the Salem team took the Smoke jumpers. 29-18, and the high school nine beat the Lions club 19-4. In the opene Monday, June 24, the Southern Oregon Arch ery club trounced Rough and Ready Mill, 20-5, while the Smokejumpers made a comeback in their game with Cabax. beat ing the Kerby mill team, 14-5. A pee wee and cub baseball jamboree was held Wednesday with all Illinois Valley teams participating. About 80 teen-agers turned out for the weekly dance Tuesday at the American Legion hall in con junction with the summer recre ation program. According to Recreation Di rector Ron Maurer, more dance records are needed, as only g5 were available for this week's dance. Swimming lessons held Mon day, Wednesday and Friday mornings at Caves Park pool, are becoming more popular. At least 50 children from five years and up participate each day and more are expected with the clos ing of Day Camp. Look To The Future! Calif., spent several days recently visiting Mrs. Pearl Adair. The Hoergers and Mrs. Adair were former neighbors in California. Mr. and Mrs. L.
