Commemorat ing the Centennial of Corvallis as a chartered city, the Corvallis Gazette-Times Wednesday pub lished a 116-page edition of the newspaper. It was the largest edition ever issued by the paper whose history extends back to 18fi2. The special centennial edition carried more than 150,000 words describing events in the city's history since 1857. Dozens of photographs dating back to 1873 were used to develop the story. More than 10 tons of news print, costing $1300, were used in publishing the 10.000 copies. The work of gathering the ma terial for the edition took more than six months. , -'-V.
