Unofficial sources hav esti mated value of the plant at more than $50,000, excluding two pickup trucks and other equipment which were gutted. City firemen were notified of the blaze about 4:10 a m , but the entire plant was engulfed in flames before they arrived. State firefighters were not noti fied until more than 15 minutes after the fire started. Officials said stacks of lumber surrounding the establishment were all that was saved. A box car of lumber at the siding was still burning several hours after the mill fire was extinguished. Although origin of the fire was not determined, one observ er reported it appeared to have started in the electrical box sec tion. Time of the fire was fixed at 4:08 a m., when an electric clock, on the premises stopped. Owners of the plant. Hank Jensen and C. A. Wigley, both of Yreka. declined to state esti mated loss or indicate whether or not the mill would be rebuilt. The plant, which employed 14 men, was not insured. It was fciiilt late in 1945 and had been owned by Jenspn and Wigley for the past 10. years. Health Association Schedules TV Film "The Revolving Door," a film on alcoholism, will be presented Sunday, June 23, at 2 p m. on station KBES-TV. This is the regular bi-weekly presentation by the Jackson County Public Health associa tion, and is one of the public services performed by the Christmas seal organization. IT George On ions Is a chef here. was made up partly in anticipa tion of the increasing number of juvenile cases to be handled un municipal court, due to the re cent city ordinance which gave a complete coverage of liquor law violations. Policies Outlined Specific policies outlined in the order are: 1. The term "juveniles" refers to persons tip to and including 17 years of age. 2. Persons 18 years of age and over will be considered as adults. 3. No juveiile under the age of 14 will be placed in jail. 4. No arrest report will be made on any juvenile under the age of 14. 5. When any juvenile 14 years of age or over is arrested an ar rest report will be made. 6. If the platoon lieutenant or sergeant or other supervisory personnel believe that an ar rested juvenile 14 years of age or over should not be held in detention, he is hereby author ized to release said juvenile to the parent, guardian or other re sponsible persons. Release Procedure 7. When a juvenile is released, the release should be accom plished by notifying '.he person who is to be responsible for the juvenile, to take custody of the juvenile at the police depart ment. If this cannot be done of ficers will transport the juvenile to the home of the person re sponsible. 8. If it is believed necessary to detain the juvenile either in the countv detention home or the county jail, the Jackson county juvenile department will be contacted for authorization to do so. 9. When any juvenile is ar rested or questioned his or her parent or guardian will be noti fied as soon as practicable. 10. A copy of all case reports in which juveniles are involved will be furnished to the Jackson rnunty juvenile department. Reports to Sehools 11. A copy of all case reports in which juveniles are involved will be furnished to the superin tendent of Medford public schools if the juvenile is currently a student in any of the Medford public schools. 12. Persons responsible for a juvenile will be advised that re ports will be furnished to the Jackson county juvenile depart ment and that said department may or may not take further ac tion in the case. 13. Juveniles will be permit ted the use of the telephone when they request it. 14. Juveniles will not be hand cuffed unless it is considered necessary by the officer for pro tective reasons. 15. In cases in which juve niles are involved, officers re ports and statements will be pre pared in five copies.
