Mrs. Lily McKay and Mrs. Carrie Puhl, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Newn ham and son. "Wink" Newnham, and Monty Burreson, returned to their homes last week end fol lowing a week's vacation in southern California. They, attend ed the graduation at Orange High school, where Jim Morris was among the graduates. While In Orange, they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Jensen and Mrs. Alice Maris. Disneyland was among the places they visited, as well as relatives in San Dieeo. En route home they visited In the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Abbott and daughters, Julie and Debbie, in Chula Vista, Calif. The Abbotts are former residents of Gold Hill and Grants Fass. She is the former Joanna Cogswell. Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Dungey were hosts to dinner at their home on 3358 Table Rock rd., June 17. The occasion was a com bination birthday and Father's Day celebration. Their daughter Kim's birthday was June 12 and Miss Nona Dnccy s was June 15. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Duneey. and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Duneey all of Gold Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Don Dungey and son Scott. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Andrews. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Smith and daughter, Wendy. and son, Dennis, of Medford. visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Huntley, Sunday. Olsen of Medford pre sented a film and talk on safety at the last meeting of the Gold Hill Junior Police. He is asso ciated with the state accident prevention division. Chief of Police Floyd Taylor announced that plans are under way for the boys to have in structions on first aid and safety under the supervision of E. A. Olsen, at the meetings. Refreshments were served after the meeting by Mrs. John Marrington and Mrs. Bohner Birdsong. Others who iave served the past month are Mrs. Sidney Payne and Mrs. Stanley Brown. The car wash which was spon sored by the Junior Police last Saturday to raise funds for ath letic equipment was a success. Thirty-five dollars was cleared. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Cook returned to their homes June 14 after five days at the State Grange convention in Bend. The Walkers represented the Gold Hill Grange as delegates. Bart Quackenbush returned to Oakland. Calif., following a visit here with his mother, Mrs. Ruby Quackenbush. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Walker, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Cook, all of Gold Hill, and Mrs. Bertha Garman of Jacksonville had din ner together in a Medford res taurant Father's Day. They went to Emigrant lake for the remain der of the day. Mrs. Howard Huett has re turned to her home following a two weeks vacation in Long Beach, Calif. Miss Marjory West remained for an extended vaca tion with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Bud) Hope and family of Medford spent Father's Day at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lance. The Junior Girl's group of the Christian church went on a swimming party on Evans Creek June 19. They have planned a wiener roast to be held Satur day. June 22. on Evans Creek.
