Graduation exercises were held in the morning for the eighth grade and 54 students re ceived their diplomas. John My ers and Ernest James gave short talks and James presented the diplomas. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bertrand and family will leave on their vacation Sunday for Arkansas and Louisiana where they will visit with Mrs. Bertrands' rela tives. In Texarkana, Ark., they will visit her parents, three brothers, three sisters and grand parents. In Louisiana they will visit her aunts and uncles. They plan to return by the southern route, visit a great aunt whom they have never seen in Pixley, Calif., and go through Disney land. They will be gone a month. Mr. and Mrs. Delno Sloan and family will leave Sunday on their vacation. They will go through Nevada and Colorado and into Kansas, where they will visit relatives at Goff, Wichita, and Hutchinson. Sloan and his family in Menlo Park. Calif. Mrs. Lewis Bertrand recently recovered from the measles. Mrs. Minnie McClain is re ported to be much improved aft er going to Brisbone. Calif., a couple of weeks ago and receiv ing treatments for an allergy. She is staying with her daugh ter's family while she is in Calif. Mrs. Alice Brownrigg is stay ing with her daughter and son-in-law in Klamath Falls while she is recuperating from an eye operation May 29. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Steele and family are back from Fair banks, Alaska and are this week visiting their families, Mr. and Mrs. Osa Waggoner and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wallace. They visited Yellowstone National pari; on their way down. Eddie has bought a barber shop in North Bend and they will leave Monday to make "their home there. Buddy Glen Mires, son of Mr. 'vH I and Mrs. Lawrence Vielbig. Is nome visiting his folks. He also is visiting with the Clifford Wal laces, his aunt and uncle, and other relatives in the Rogue val ley. He is stationed at the Navy base in Fallon, Nev. A family get-together and dinner was held recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hef fernan. Mrs. Helen Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Goetz of Seat tle. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Brendrup of Pearl River, New York, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bohls of Med ford were all present. The Goetz' and Mrs. Thompson were houseguests over the Memorial ! week end and the Brendrups' I spent a few days prior to Memo- rial day at the Heffernan home. ! They were traveling by plane to Los Angeles on business and stopped here. Mrs. Brendrup and Mrs. Bohls are sisters and daughters of the Heffernans. A potluck luncheon was held June 1 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cobleigh. Those pres ent were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hescock and son Lee of Hoopa, Calif.; Ora Yerkes and Violet Ditsworth, Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Richardson, Trail; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ditsworth, Ashland: Ada East and Mr. and Mrs. Hobert Ditsworth, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Uriah Vaughn, , Roseburg: Stewart Ditsworth, and Mr. and Mrs. Cobleigh. On Sunday the same group, with the addition of nieces and neph ews, went to Lithia park in Ash land for a picnic. Those present included all the brothers and sisters of Mrs. Cobleigh, except Mrs. Ida Hebrard of Salinas, Hi, Champ!
