Dean Harold J. N'oyes announced today. Dean Earhart and Gordon Marx will receive the degree of doctor of dental medicine at graduation rites June 13. Georg ia Ashby will receive a certifi cate as dental hygienist at the same event. In First Class The two are among 75 who are completing the four-year dentistry course, the first class to be graduated from the state school's new S3. 000,000 quarters. Miss Ashby is one of 15 young women finishing a two-year course in dental hygiene. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ashby, 830 Bennett ave., and a 1954 graduate of Medford High school. UF Drive Meeting Called at Ashland Ashland A town meeting to discuss a single United Fund drive for Ashland was called for Thursday night in the high school library. Dr. John Bradshaw, newly elected president of the Ashland United Fund, called the meeting to determine whether residents prefer to support a single cam paign or to let each organiza tion raise its own funds. Reperesentatives of the Med ford United Fund were to ex plain the system which has w-orked successfully in Medford. The board of directors of the Ashland-Talent Youth fund vot ed recently to change the name and scope of the organization to Ashland United Fund. Mexico Train Collision Leaves 20 Dead, 30 Hurt Cortazar. Mexico If! - A freight train killed at least 20 persons and injured 30 more on Wednesday night when it crash ed into a crowded passenger train near this town in Central Mexico. A local Red Cross official said it was feared the death toll would reach 40. Russia To Repatriate 120,000 Poles This Year Warsaw 'V Russia will re patriate 120.000 Poles this year, the official Polish news agency PAP reported today. Gains in the oils, which also featured in volume, ranged to more than three points. The best performers were A m erada. Standard (Ind.) Cities Service, and General American Oil. There was nothing new in the news to bring the demand for the oils and gas issues, and it was recalled that traders had about written off prospects for passage of the natural gas bill this year. Institutional investors were said to be buvine the oils on the prospect of good gains in net income this year. The whole list improved. MEDrORD (OHEOON) MAIL TRIBUNE FIFTH If Eight Local Youths In Car Accident Klamath Falls Seven Jack son county young people were injured about 3 a.m. Wednesday when the car in which they were riding left the highway west of Keno and rolled over several times. Operator of the vehicle. Wen dell Franklin Holder. 21. Cen tral Point, was not reported in jured. Hospitalized at Klamath Falls were Delores Hunt. 18. Meri dee Coffman. 17. Sharon Heff ner, 1R. and Shirley Brown. 17, all of Medford. and Irene Thom as. 18. Ashland. Treated and discharged from the hospital Wednesday were Jeri Willson, 17. Medford, and Vincent Michaell Mullen,, 19. Central Point. According to reports, they were rehiring to their homes after attending a dance at Klam ath Falls when the accident oc curred. Police were quoted as saying the car apparently fail ed to negotiate a curye, skidded 150 feet on the highway and rolled over. The occupants were scattered as the vehicle rolled. 1 It was indicated the accident victims are in "good" condition. Fireman Exams Offered in Medford Examinations for firemen will be held June 15. at the central fire station in Medford. Front and Third sts., the Civil Serv ice commission has announced. Applicants must have a high school education, be in good physical condition and between the ages of 21 and 35 years. Working hours will be 24 hours on duty, followed by 24 hours off duty, and one additional 24 hours off in each two-week period Application blanks and com - plete information will be avail able at the office of the fire chief at the central fire station.
