Coast Guard Hunts
Yacht in Atlantic
Provincetown, Mass. (U.R)
Coast Guard resumed an air
and sea respue search today for
a yacht believed to have sunk
three miles off Race Point.
A distress signal from the El
len R. said Thursday night that
eight men were aboajrd and the
ship was sinking. The message
said there were no lifeboats and
only two life jackets on the ship.
The Coast Guard cutter
Acushnet, which received the
message while at sea was at the
scene and a helicopter was
scheduled to leave Salem Coast
Guard station today. The heli
copter took part in the search
Thursday night but was forced
to land after dark.

Notice is hereby given that on
Monday, May 13, 1957, the Board of
Equalization of the County of Jack
son. Oregon, will meet at the County
Courthouse in Medford, Oregon, to
publicly examine the assessment rolls
for said County of Jackson for the
year 1957-58. and to correct all errors
in valuation, description, or qualities
of land, lots or other property as
sessed by the assessor.
The ratio between assessed and
true cash value adopted by the Board
of Equalization pursuant to ORS
309.034 is 30 percent. (The ratio de
termined by the Assessor pursuant to
ORS 309.028 is 30 percent.) . .
It shall be the duty of the persons
interested to appear at the time and
place appointed. Petitions for adjust
ment of assessments must be filed
with the Board of Equalization not
later than the end of the first week
that the Board is in session.
