municipal airport. The road will
be developed about 2,000 feet
west of the main air terminal
and run north to the Medford
Air service buildings, north of
the airport road.
The new road, to be about
500 feet long, will provide direct
access to Medford Air service
buildings and other airport 'fa
cilities. City Manager Robert
Duff said the new road would
prevent vehicles from encroach
ing on the taxi ways.
Duff noted that vehicles and
foot traffic have intruded on pri
vate taxiways because of the
lack of a direct road. This situa
tion has created a safety hazard,
he said. The new road also
would make possible private
hangar development in that vi
cinity, he added.
Cost of the development of an
access road to extend easterly
and westerly near the southern
boundary of the airport will be
$2,450, Duff said. The access
road will connect with the air
port road near Biddle rd.
Councilman Donald Hansen
suggested that perhaps funds for
the road could be better utilized
for airport landscaping. Duff
pointed out there was sufficient
funds in the airport budget to
cover landscaping as well as an
L access road. Funds for the access
road will come from the airport
reconstruction fund.
In other council action an ex
tenesion of time was granted
Sears Roebuck and company,
Medford, in dedication of 10th
st. between Central and River
side aves. The street, originally
planned for dedication March 1,
will be dedicated July 1.
Tenth st. is part of the $220,-
uuu arterial street program,
which is one of three segments
of the over-all 10-year capital
improvement program approved
by voters last November.
The council also approved the
transfer' of various budget items
within city departments. Trans
fers were made necessary be
cause of deficiences in some
items, Duff said. He added that
budget law permits the council
to transfer items within city, departments.

Listen to What Its Silence Says!
Ever hear a motor car tell its own story?
Well, just get behind the wheel of a new 1957
Cadillac head for your favorite stretch of high
way and listen!
Of course, the truth of the matter is that you
won't actually hear anything. For a 1957 Cadillac
in operation is as quiet as human skill and
, ingenuity. can make it.
But imagine, if you will, all the wonderful
things the car will be telling you through the voice
of its own silence!
First of all, it will speak and most eloquently
so of the soundness of Cadillac styling. For the
car is so scientifically designed that even the
onrushing wind is reduced to a gentle whisper.
It will tell you of the genius of Cadillac engineer
ing. For every aspect of the car's brilliant perform
ance goes about its. work in soundless harmony.
And it will reveal the care and the . skill of
Cadillac craftsmanship. For even when it travels
the most neglected of byways, the car remains
wonderfully -silent. -- -.-
' ' e
If you have yet to sit at the wheel of a 1957
Cadillac and hear this wonderful story for yourself,
then we urge you to delay no longer in doing so.
We hope you will visit your Cadillac dealer
-soon spend an hour on the highway and listen
to the most eloquent message a motor car ever
delivered on its own behalf! . - . . '

"Life's most embarrassing mo

Rep. John J. Connors Jr., in the
Ohio House Wednesday.
By mistake, the Toledo Re

bill.
Red-faced Connors had to re

House to have the final tally
changed.
Although a chorus of "objec

siding officer Harold Oyster of '
Marietta said:
"Hearing no objections, the
request is granted."
Connors explained he had vot
ed "no'' so many times he press
ed his voting button the wrong

The "bill, which passed 99 to
