Crilegiate conference victory in
eg game with Oregon Tech. Thin
SLads will be hosts at Fuller
tmli for a meet with Shasta Jun
ier college and Oregon Techmen.
OC dropped three baseball
games to the Oregon college
Wolves at Monmouth over the
week end. Saturday games with
1 shuffled line-up were tighter
than the Friday mix and the
Raiders could be stronger for
their OTI fray.
Oregon college won 3 to 2 and
2 to 1 on Saturday after taking
the Friday encounter 6 to 2.
Raider pitching was strong
enough but the Ashlanders
couldn't muster scoring punch
and errors hurt in the first
game. Ned Landers tossed a
three-hitter and Dave D'Olivo
a seven-hitter. The Wolves also
got seven raps in the second
mix in which Duane Sides took
over in the third inning for SOC
hurler Ray Thiess who develop
ed a sore arm.
Bunched Walks, Hits
Southern Oregon had a 2 to
0 lead in the first game Satur
day but the Wolves bunched
two walks with all their hits in
the sixth inning for their runs.
The Oregon college win in the
second game came on a seventh
inning tally which broke a 1
all deadlock.
Return of sprinter Clarence
Baker, who has been out with
sore ankles, should bolster the
Raider track team for the three
way fuss. The Raiders haven't
had a meet for about 10 days.
They trailed Linfield their last
time out but Gary Lewis in the
javelin, Bill Stewart in the shot
put and Keith Lockhart in the
discus all set new SOC school
records.
