Tuttle subdivision, established
some 25 years ago, has, during
the time since, been known by
different names. Bigham lane

most popular. Some called it
Pummey Lane and now the teen
aged daughter of the Brown's

Puny Lane.

The death of Judge Rawles
Moore came as a surprise and
a sincere feeling of regret to lo
cal friends of the Moore family.
We have known Judge Moore
for many years, and valued his
friendship very highly. On sev
eral occasions we have visited
his court and observed his hand
ling of cases, sometimes show
ing leniency to younger offend
ers in turn for promises to hence
forth obey the laws. Although
a good friend of ours, we have
always felt that should we ever
come into his court with a guilty
plea, we would get the same pun
ishment as any one else.

Toothless Recruits
To Serve Trial Period
Bonn, Germany (U.R) The
West German Army has ruled
that toothless recruits must
serve a three-month trial period
before being issued a set of
false teeth.
If they want the set' of five
uppers and five lowers before
that they'll have to pay $47.95.
The defense ministry said the
ruling was to prevent toothless
men from volunteering for the
army, getting their choppers and
then quitting before becoming
full-fledged soldiers.

The most horrible form of
current city transportation is
the one-man bus. Do you know
how and why this atrocity was
imposed upon a long suffering
public? The drivers and conduc
tors of the two-men buses de
manded more pay. A compro
mise was effected. The conduc
tors were fired and with the
money thus saved the drivers
were given the raise asked for.
In some sections it takes one-
man buses 45 minutes to make
trips that trolley cars made in
25 minutes or less 50 years ago.
And this is what is constantly
referred to as a "Century of
Progress." ' .
Triplets '
Where can be found triplets
named Tom, Dick and Harry?
Who are probably the only tri
plets so named in this country?
Why, sir, they can be found
in Florida. They are Thomas,
Richard and Harry Breeze of
Eradenton, Florida. They are
13 years old. Their justly proud
papa is George Breeze.
Asking
Queries from clients. Q. What
do you say is the recipe for the
mixed drink called a "Pink
Lady"? A. The official recipe
for the concoction you refer
to is as follows: "One and one
half ounces dry gin, one-half
ounce apple jack. Four dashes
of grenadine and one egg white.
Shake well with ice and serve
in four-ounce wine glass. Q. Our
daughter was born at 12:59 on
Sept. 23. Is she Virgo or Libra?
According to Evangeline Adams
she is a Virgo. Females born
under that sign generally live
to a very ripe old age and
usually appear from 15 to 20
years younger than they really
are. Or, so say the stargazers.

Cooking
"So you say a cook can be
judged by how she prepares
vegetables or boils an egg,"
writes a Toledo subscriber. "My
good man, try to avoid showing
your ignorance. An egg is not
boiled but cooked. Therefore an
egg is either hard or soft cooked
not boiled."
