THOMASINE SMITH Eagle Point The Eagle Point Lady Lions met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Willard Cave. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Clay were guest speakers and showed colored slides taken during their journey through Italy, France, Switzerland and Germany. Other guests at the meeting were Mrs. C. R. Elbert, Mrs. Art Thompson and Mrs. David Shear er, sister of Mrs. Charles Martin. The next meeting. April 8. will be held at Henry's Broiler at which time the "Foolish Felines" will be revealed. Mrs. Lawrence Messal will give a book review. Proof came to Eagle Point this week two-fold that it's a small world. Miss Yetta Olsen, high school librarian, received magazines in tended for an Eagle Point pri mary school in Australia. After corresponding with the educa tion department in Melbourne, Miss Olsen received a letter tell ing her to keep tht booklets with their compliments. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Girts and two daughters of Dayton, Wash., are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Olsen, on their way to southern California. Mrs. Harry Wimer of Sheri dan. Wyo arrived In Eagle Point Wednesdav for an extend ed visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tresham. Mrs. Wimer, sister of Mrs. Tresham, will be here to help care for Tresham during his convalesence. The Eagle Point Lions club is planning a Ladies night April 13 at the Teenage hall. The dinner will be prepared by the men and games and dancing will follow. Mrs. E. L. Cunningham is sponsoring an Easter Egg hunt Friday, April 19. at 11 a.m. at her home on the Brophy rd. Chil dren should be accompanied by an adult and each child has been asked to bring a sack or con tainer for their eggs. Prizes are offered to the child finding the most eggs and to the one with the least eggs. Fifty children at tended the hunt last year. The Eagle Point FFA chapter Saturday cut wood they hope to sell toraise fundi, for their an nual banquet in April. Lester Bradshaw donated trees from his property and the boys donated chain saws and labor for the project. Anyone wishing to pur chase wood from the FFA boys may contact Nat Etzel, vocation al agriculture instructor at the high school. The FFA boys also have raised tomato, cabbage, pepper and let tuce plants which will be on sale in the near future. Word was received by Stan Smith from his sister, Mrs. Ray Coffin. Anchorage, Alaska, that she had recently bought a Toy Pomeranian pup. When the pedi gree papers arrived she found that the pup was fron the Wilma. Smith Rougeland Kennels at Ap oplegate. Mrs. Bob Stewart, the former Marilyn Greenwood, will leave San Francisco April 6 for Schweinfurt, Germany, where she will join her husband, who has been stationed at Schwein furt for the past five months. John Smith, who lives on North C st. is home from the hospital and may have company. Mrs. Edmondson from Seneca, Ore., is Sere taking care of her father during his illness.
