Retarded Children To BeTopic For 'Studio One' Play "A Child Is Watiing," a play dealing with mentally retarded children, will be presented on "Studio One" carried by KBES- TV M pjday, March 11, at 7 p.m. Mrs. Robert C. Minear, chair man of the mental health com mittee of the Jackson County Public Health association, stated that this play will show the new er methods of developing the mentally retarded child. The author of the play, M. Ab- by Mann, who became interested in the problems of retarded chil dren about one and one-half years ago, indicated that he had quite a problem in finding a pro ducer who was willing to pre sent a play on such a difficult subject. However, after much re search and study of homes where approved methods are used, "A Child Is Waiting" was written. Mrs. Minear states that the play Jifis the full approval of mentar health associations throughout th United States, and the general public is urged to view it in order to under stand the worg nl tims of the association. Wesleyan Guild Concluding Study Last meeting for the study of southeast Asia by the Susannah Wesleyan Service guild will be held Monday, March 11, at 6 p.m. at the home of Miss Mary Vandenberg, 16 Laurel street. The menu planned for the meeting will include recipes re ceived from a former guild mem ber. Miss Marjorie Anderson, who is now teaching in Guam Games and songs of the area will be led by Miss Marjorie Sandfort with Mrs. Roger Note in charge of the study program. Mrs. David Legg will give the meditation service. Mrs. Gerald Sherman and Mrs. Carl Burk will report on the Western Jurisdiction Con ference of the Women's Society of Christian Service which they attended in Berkeley last month. Deputy Guardian To Visit Bethel In Central Point Central Point Mrs. Evelyn McGill, deputy grand guardian of Job s Daughters in Oregon, will be a guest at a meeting of Bethel 38 Thursday, March 14. Initiation of candidates, inspec tion and visitation night for Ma sons and Eastern Star members are planned. The meeting will be formal. Preceding the meeting a smor gasbord at Tabu in Medford will honor Mrs. McGill. The guardian council and bethel members are asked to attend this. Queen Sally Elden asks all bethel members to attend a prac tice to be held at the Masonic hall at 7 p.m. Monday, March 11. Chapter To Hold Social Evening; Luncheon Planned Jacksonville Adarel chapter, Order of Eastern Star, plans a social evening for members and their escorts at the Masonic hall in Jacksonville, Saturday, March 16, at 8 p.m. The line officers of the chapter make up the committee. Adarel Past Matrons' club will hold its March meeting at the home of Mrs. Ina M. Huson, 505 Summit avenue, Medford, Mon day, March 11, with Mrs. Fred L. Ryde, president, presiding. Mrs. Huson will be assisted by Mrs. Harris M. Olson and Mrs. George Drorbaugh in serving a 12:30 o'clock luncheon immed iately preceding the meeting. Adarel Social club will hold a p o 1 1 u c k luncheon Thursday. March 14, at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Hamlin, 602 Arnold lane, Medford. Mrs. Or val Shores and Mrs. George Mero will assist the hostess. Those attending are asked to bring their own table service. Home Economics Club To Meef on Thursday Home Economics club of the Upper Rogue grange will meet Thursday, March 14, at 1 p.m. in the Grange hall. Luncheon hostesses will be Mrs. Charles Moorehead and Mrs. Asbjorn Myklebye. Reports of the recent rum mage sale and other activities will be given at the business meeting following the luncheon. Miss Brill, a freshman education major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wal lace Brill, 75 Lozier lane. Guild St. Catherine's guild of St. Mark's Episcopal church will meet Monday, March 11 at 8 for the evening will be Mrs. C. H. Barrell, Mrs. George R. V. Bolster and Mrs. Fred Morlan. Mrs. Ralph B. Matthews will give a short program. To Visit Medford Mrs. Paul Myers, state or ganizer of Pythian Sunshine Girls, from St. Helens, Ore., will make her official visit to the local group Thursday, March 14 They will meet at 7 p.m. in the Pythian building. Members are asked to wear formal dresses. Society to Study March Birthstone . Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral club will hold its monthly meet ing at Redman hall Wednesday, March 13. The birthstone for March, bloodstone, will be the subject for discussion. Members will display any bloodstone they may have or bring other types o jasper if they do not have bloodstone. After a brief business meeting, the program is taken over by Dr. Paul Olson who presents a new angle on the gem of the month. Last meeting it was a quiz on the information given.
