X-Ray Clinic The chest x-ray clinic at Sacred Heart hospital will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Jackson County Public Health association. Evening hours are maintained the first Wednesday cf each month, the association pointed out. Walker, 60, of Camp White, died Tuesday in the VA Domiciliary at Camp White. He is survived by three daugh ters, Mrs. Orval Mott, Oregon City; Mrs. Don Thomas, Win lock, Wash.; and Barbara D. Walker, Oregon City; two sis ters, Elsie Mae Everest, Cathla met. Wash.; and Mrs. Frank Shane, Seattle, Wash.; and one brother, F. D. Walker, Camp White. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Camp White chapel. Conger-Morris Funeral home is in charge of arrange ments. BARBARA GENE GARDNER Ashland Private funeral services were held Wednesday morning in the Lilwiller Moun tain View chapel, Ashland, for Miss Barbara Gene Gardner, 36, who died March 3. Miss Gardner was born June 3, 1921, in Talent, the daughter of the late E. C. Gardner. She is survived by a step mother. Mrs. Gladys Gardner of Ashland, and two aunts, Mrs. F. F. Burk, Medford, and Mrs. Pearl Foster, Talent. The Rev. John Thompson, Ash land Episcopal minister, offic iated. MRS. ESTELLA NIVISON Ashland Mrs. Estella Nivi son, 75, died in Jacksonville, March 3. She was born July 26, 1881, in Harlan county, Neb., and has made her home in Jackson ville for the last three years. She is survived by a son, Fred Chase of Sahara Village, Utah, and a brother-in-law, Frank Niv ison. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Litwiller Mountain View chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Wendell Herbison, Ashland Christian church, wil officiate. Interment will be in the Harga dine cemetery. MRS. LUCY MAY COOK Ashland Mrs. Lucy May Cook, 95, died in Talent, March 4, after a recent illness. Mrs. Cook was born Jan. 15, 1862 in Berlin, Vt. and moved to Talent in 1910. She is survived by a son, Fred R. Cook, Talent, and a grand son. She was a member of the First Methodist church. Talent. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, at 3 p.m. in Litwiller Mountain View chapel in Ashland. The Rev. Alice Mae Wooley, Talent Methodist church will officiate. Interment will be at Stearns cemetery. GEORGE M. FROST Ashland George M. Frost, 83, of 365 Pearl St., Ashland, died at his home March 6. Mr. Frost was born May 23, 1873, in Scio, Ore., and moved to Ash land in 1915. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Ashland, and was an elder-trustee. He was employed for many years by the city as the superintendent of the cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Evangeline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lit willer Mountaui View chapel in Ashland. The Rev. J. B. Holland of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Medford Wednesday, March 8, 1957 School Legislation To Be Discussed An open meeting concerning proposed public school legisla tion in Oregon will be held under sponsorship of Upper Applegate Grange in the Ruch school gym nasium at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8. Senate Bill 64, the so-called key district bill providing for redistribution of general fund public schocfl monies will re ceive special consideration. Anna Scott, legislative com mittee chairman for Upper Ap plegate Grange, who has respon sibility for arranging the pro gram with the assistance of Prin cipal Boyd Gibson of Ruch school, said speakers invited to participate in a panel presenta tion of the subject include Jack son Countv Superintendent of Schools Alf B. Mekvold, John Harr, superintendent of schools in Rogue River and a former res ident of Upper Applegate, and member of the board of Ruch elementary school. Because passage of the pro posed bills will affect taxpayers in Oregon, it is hoped that all who are Interested will attend the meeting. The regular session of Upper Applegate Grange will convene in the school cafeteria immedi ately following the meeting ac cording to Worthy Master Menno Bachmann.
