The Rev. F. G. Plock er of the Congregational church officiated at the 8:30 o'clock evening double ring ceremony. Only relatives of the couple at tended. I Past Presidents Honored by Club Scottish Rite Women's club honored past presidents at a meeting held at the Masonic temple February 11. Each one was presented with a red cor sage. Six tables of bridge and canata were played, with Mrs. Lloyd Hamlin winning the prize for canasta and Mrs. Harry Nordwick taking high score at bridge. During the coffee hour Mrs. Frank Salyers, president, read the list of past presidents, of whom five were present. Jack Kennedy introduced the officers of the various orders who were present. Mrs. Green was speaker in the evening for the annual Student Government day banquet sponsored by Medford Elks lodge, and during her stay here discussed school legislation with Medford educators. Church Rites Marry Pair Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dean Shep herd, married February 1 at Pil grim Holiness church, are now living at 1206 Niantic street, Apt. 5, Medford. The bride is the former Miss Deanna Great, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Great, 329V4 Kennet street, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepherd, Cen tral Point. The ceremony took place at eight o'clock in the evening with the Rev. Sherman Moore officiat ing. Baskets of pink and white chrysanthemums, ferns and candles decorated the church. Mr. Great gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a blue silk frock with rhinestone trim at the neckline, and a white shoulder-length veil held by blue flowers. She carried a white Bible with white carnations. Miss Dianna Anderson was honor attendant and Miss Car olyn Barker was bridesmaid. They wore blue nylon frocks with floral headpieces and car ried white carnation bouquets. Gordon Tidwell Jr., was best mand and Jack Lilly seated the guests George McUen sang, and Miss Ima Jean Davis played the wed ding music. The reception which followed was at the home of the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Moore. Mrs. N. U. Mc- Manhan and Mrs. A. H. Allen cut and served the wedding cake, and Mrs. Paul Ludwig and Mrs. George Ortiz poured. Mrs. George Allen assisted for the reception. Mrs. Chester Com stock took charge of the guest book. About 50 guests attended. The newlyweds traveled to southern California for their wedding trip. The bride attended Medford High school and the bridegroom, a lineman with the Bell telephone system, attended Crater High school. Darlene Watson, Robert Burgess To Wed in July Talent Mr. and Mrs. Henry Watson, Goldencrest orchard. Talent, announce the engage ment of their daughter, Darlene, to Robert L. Burgess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldo Burgess, Ashland. Miss Watson is a 1953 gradu ate of Medford High school and is now attending Medford Beau ty school. Mr. Burgess is em ployed at Fir Milling and Plan ing company. The wedding has been set for July. UN To Be theme Of Program For Women's Group A program on the theme, "United Nations and Us" will be given for a meeting of Wom en's association, First Presbyte rian church, Tuesday, February 26. It will follow luncheon, to be served at 1 p.m. by Temple circle. Lynn Sjolund will present the Madrigal singers of Medford High school in several selec tions. Devotions will be given by Mrs. John Dellenback. The program, planned by Mrs. George Flanagan, will be in the form of a skit with Mrs. D. Kirk land West as "Mrs. Critic' Eight members will assist. Nursery care will be provided Medford Woman Honored at Party Mrs. Josephine Widner was honored by members of Colonel Sargent auxiliary. United Span ish War Veterans, at a dinner Sunday afternoon, February 17, at Redman hall on the occasion of her 80th birthday. Mrs. Wid ner has been a member of the auxiliary for many years and for the past 15 years has served as dinner chairman for the group. Mrs. Widner received many gifts and cards and was pre sented a corsage by the auxiliary president, Mrs. Bertha Nelson. Mrs. Nelson presided at the busi ness meeting following the din ner. Mrs. Myrtis Morgan of Gold Hill was initiated. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Barne- burg were in charge of arrange ments for the dinner. Guests at the dinner and meet ing included Mr. and Mrs. John Meals of Detroit, Ore., Mrs. James VanderSteen, Miss Shir ley Ann Unger, Mrs. Mollie Keene and Don Anderson. Miss Max ine Crowson attended her cou sin. She wore a gray suit with pink blouse and corsage. Jack Fitzgerald of Medford served as best man. Pink snapdragons and white stock decorated the Stearns' home for the wedding and recep-, tion that was held following the ceremony. The bride attended Ashland Lincoln Junior High school and Ashland High school. She has been making her home at 236 Vi South Central avenue, Medford. The bridegroom, who has been living at 236 South Central ave nue, Medford, is a graduate of Klamath Falls schools. . The newlywed couple are now at home at 236 South Central avenue. -4 VAVS Workers To Be Honored At Camp Party VAVS members of Crater Lake auxiliary, Veterans of For eign Wars, will be among those honored at a "turn about party" at Camp White Tuesday, Feb ruary 26, at 8 p.m. by the vet erans. The veterans, in appreciation of the work done by the VAVS members, will present songs and skits, and serve refreshments at the party. Thursday, February 27, the Auxiliary members will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ear nest Brauneg, Talent, for lunch eon and sewing bee during the afternoon. Past Presidents met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Lusk, Central Point, for a dessert luncheon Wednesday. Guests were Mrs. Floyd Crosslin, Mrs. Iva ' Blackwell, and Mrs. Hoy Rodgers of Ashland. Guests attending the Crater Lake Post and auxiliary meet ing Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Dan Krotz, district commander and president of Steelhead Post and auxiliary.
