"Where the Fit Is Guaranteed"
On The Side ByE.v . Durimg

A New Yorker says she misses
the delightful and inviting odor
of the morning coffee on the
fire. She says coffee has become
odorless. At least the numerous
brands she has tried. She adds
that in checking with many of
her friends, she finds they are
having the same experience.
Come to think of it, I haven't
noticed that morning coffee odor
lately myself. However, the cof
fee at home is great. No com
plaint on quality. I have four
or five cups every morning.
Briefly
How fast can your matrimo
nial mate make a bed? Accord
ing to a home managing effi
ciency expert a capable bed
maker should make a double
bed in two minutes and a pair
of twin beds in three minutes
and a half. What are your pho
bias, if any? Do you know what
gamophobia is? A man suffer
ing from gamophobia is a man
who likes women but has an
aversion to matrimony.
Ideal Family
What do you consider the
ideal family? Most people con
sider it to be four, two boys
and two girls. However, her
serene highness Princess Rain
ier (Grace Kelly) believes three
is the ideal number. Two girls
and a boy. With the births
spaced two years apart.

Evangelist Immune
To Speeding Tickets.
Duncan, Okla. (U.R) A
76-year-old retired evangelist
who lives west of here doesn't
have to worry about getting
tickets for speeding.
"She'll only go about' 35
miles per hour." he said, as he
pushed his 1924 model T Ford
out of the garage.
W. C. Fox of the Gatlin
School community said he be
lieves his car is the oldest us
able auto in Stephens county.
"I traded my old car on this
new one about two years ago,"
Fox said.
Gas mileage isn't one of Fox's
worries.
"I imagine it can get about 28
or 30 miles per gallon," he said.
Fox said he bought his first
car, a 1911 model T in 1917. He
kept that model until 1955 when
he traded It for the M24 model.
Pantothenic Acid
Declared Essential
In Diet of Humans
Pantothenic acid, one of the
B-complex vitamins, is one of
the less well known nutrients.
It is believed to be essential
to normal nutrition in humans
and the lack of it undsr test
conditions has been found to
cause severe illness. However,
it is still uncertain whether diets
of humans are ever so low in
this substance as to produce
deficiency diseases.
Pantothenic acid Is found in
relatively high supply in dried
yeast, liver and eggs and in
good supply in broccoli, cauli
flower, potatoes, sweet potatoes,
lean beef, skim milk, tomatoes
and other vegetables and some
fruits. Avocados were found to
be relatively high in this substance.
Most dangerous period lor
accidents on farms is from 2
p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, a
Pennsylvania survey showed,
and most mishaps occurred to
younger workers and teenage
boys.

imagination. It has been truly
said, "imagination is an impor

It was secretary of the treasury,
Salmon Portland Chase, who in
1864 had "In God We Trust" put
on United States coinage. Chase
said he believed no country
could succeed without faith in
God.
Sidelights
A man that liquor puts In a.
quarrelsome mood is usually a
weak character. When a man of
strong character imbibes too
freely he becomes genial and
wants to sing. . . My Alma Mater
is Wesleyan University, Middle
town, Conn., which is named in
honor of John Wesley. However,
no professor there ever told me
that Wesley's brother Charles
wrote over 6.500 hymns among
which was "Hark! The Herald
Angels Sing."
Games
No man over 40 should play
handball. It is much too strenu
ous. A fine game for persons
over 40 is tennis. That is be
cause when once mastered, ten
nis can be played with very
little effort. All that is necessary
is to understand the art of plac
ing the ball.
Asides ,
The seat next to the driver
is the most dangerous in an
automobile. The driver's seat is
safest. That's what the accident
records seem to indicate. . . Ever
hear of a cocktail named after a
short story? "The Last Blend
Cocktail" is named after a story
by O. Henry. The recipe is
"large jigger Jamaica rum, jig
ger Creme de Cacao, juice of
half a lime. Shake."
Ulcers
Sufferers from stomach ulcers
continue to increase. A variety
of reasons is given for this ail
ment. It was E. W. Howe who
observed, "Probably the simple
facts about health are that all
of us have bad dietary habits
when we have young stomachs
and continue in them when our
stomachs show the natural wear
of long use. Stomachs weaken
as do eyes, but we cannot buy
spectacles for our stomachs."
