Sanitone dry cleaning
Is a blessing to my budget!
No doubt about k Sanitone Dry Germing brings
real economy into any home! It's so thorough . . .
even get out ground-in gritty dirt that cuts fibers
and causes premature wear. It prevents persptra- ,
tion damage, and retains original beauty of colors,
patterns and textures almost indefinitely. That
means real savings because clothes stay dressy and
new-looking so much longer.

Judge Considering
Helser Motion
San Francisco (U.R) Federal
Judge Louis E. Goodman took
under submission Friday a mo
tion by J. Henry Helser & Com
pany to dismiss charges the firm
misrepresented investments in
letters to prospective clients.
The judge gave no indication
w hen he would rule on the mo
tion. He still must hear a motion
by the Securities and Exchange
Commission for a permanent in
junction against the Helser firm.
The SEC charged Helser de
liberately continued a program
of misrepresentations in defiance
of a Federal Court order issued
in 1955 which directed the firm
to revise its relationships with
clients.
Helser attorney Robert E.
Burns told the court the letters
in question were in "areas of
fair comment" and were based
on performances which were on
record "at the time the state
ments were made."
He said the letters were based
on a survey of individual ac
counts and on a company survey
which showed an average return
of nine per tent over , the life
of some 3.122 accounts.
Corvallis Council
Has Meter Problem
Corvallis (U.R) City council
men were full of ideas for the
lelicf of a harassed Corvallis
housewife but Mrs. Charles
Hamilton considered none c
them very practical.
Seems the city installed a
parking meter in front of the
Hamilton home, at the very spot
where Mrs. Hamilton must park
her car long enough to open
the garage doors. The other day
an alert policeman ticketed her
car during the moment that she
hurried to open the garage. Mrs.
Hamilton asked that the meter
be removed.
Council suggestions included
authorizing police to overlook
Mrs. Hamilton's temporary park
ing, authorizing the police chief
to "fix" her tickets, authorizing
Mrs. Hamilton to park across
the sidewalk, and a suggestion
that the woman install a radio
controlled door that could be
opened from her car.
No decision was reached by
the council but Mayor Carl Wil
liams had word of comfort for
Mrs. Hamilton: "according to
the law of averages, you
shouldn't be caught too often."

All postmen should be paid
more. However, some should be
paid more than others. Have you
noticed the difference in mail de
livery when the carriers on your
route are changed? At times the
change is for the better. At
others, for the worse. It prob
ably would not be practical for
the government to institute a
wage scale for postmen based on
comparative ability. However,
there is nothing to prevent high
ly satisfied citizens from giving
their postmen something in the
way of a bonus. Even if each
family on the route gave their
highly capable mail carrier a
dollar a month as a bonus it
would build up his income con
siderably. Among tht Married
A Los Angeles man obtained

years of marriage is not the rec

divorce after 62 years of mar
riage. His wife was 84 years old.
He said she was running around
with other men.

Men bocn under Scorpio (Oct.

March 20) men are easiest to
break into matrimonial harness.
Not hard to train and never re

It would be quite a planning
problem if King Saud of Saudi
Arabia turned out to be the
stickler for Arab customs his
late father, King Ibn Saud, was.
King Saud arrives here Wed
nesday as President Eisenhow

party, will stay at Blair House.
His. father would not compro
mise in the slighest when he met
the late President Roosevelt in
1945 aboard the cruiser Quincy
while FDR was en route home
from the Yalta conference.
Ibn Saud brought his own
food, including a flock of bawl

keeper of the king's purse. His

Twins
It is possible that a man whose
wife gave birth to twins could
be father of only one of them?
That's what a'Bostonian asks.
Men of science say it is possible.
In fact, not so many years ago
a man seeking a divorce made
the claim that he was the fa
ther of only one of his twin
daughters. '

Some of the stricter Arabs be
lieve that no man should look
upon the unveiled face of anoth
er man's wife. The veil has fall
en out of custom in much of the
Arab world, but some of the old
timers still believe in the prac
tice. So, what happens to Mrs. Eis
enhower when King Saud is
around the premises? The cur
rent king is understood to be
more westernized than his fa
ther. But the fact remains that
the dinner the President gives
for him in the White House
Wednesday night is to be strict
ly stag. The same goes for Saud's
dinner in honor of the President
Friday night.
Of course, the problem might
be solved by having Mrs. Eisen
hower wear a face veil for a few
days. But as someone around
the White House said the other
day, "I can see her wearing a
veil before I belie e she'd let
strange cooks invade her kit
chen." Waters of the Great Salt lake

only about 3.6 per cent.
