FOUR MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Sunday. January 27, 1957 Medford Teacher Clarence Edwards To Marry in July Mr. and Mrs. J. Herbert Stone, Portland, announce the engage ment of their daughter. Coral Ann, to Clarence K. Edwards, 235 South Oakdale avenue, Med ford. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Edwards, formerly of Medford and now of Los An geles. The bride-elect was graduated from Oregon State college and is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She is now teach ing home economics at McLough lin Junior High school, Medford. The bridegroom-to-be attended Bakerfield college and Gon zaga university. He and his twin brother, Lawrence Dale Ed wards, operate a toy manufac turing plant in this city. Miss Booth is a graduate of John Rogers High school, Spo kane, Wash. Mr. Harbin attend ed Grants Pass High school and served with the United States Marine Corps. Both Miss Booth and Mr. Harbin are students at Southern Oregon college. A June wedding is planned. Miss Marilynn Boolh Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Miss Cook Guest At Bridal Shower; Wedding Day Set Miss Marilyn Cook was guest of honor at a bridal shower Janu ary 18, given for her by the First Assembly of God Church, Medford. The shower was held in the church annex under the supervision of Mrs. John "Gib son and Mrs. Alfred Bendickson both of Medford. Games were played and re freshments were served to the 40 guests who were present. The bride-to-be received many gifts for her new home. Earlier in the week, a sur prise farewell party was given for Miss Cook before her de parture for El Centro, Calif., where she will be married. The party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Strong, with the young people of the church present. Games were played and refreshments served. Miss Cook's wedding to Bob Leach of Holtville, Calif., is set for February 15. She is a daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Cook, 674 Midway road. Miss Nicodemus Engaged to Wed Dan Pilkington Mr. and Mrs. Rex Nicodemus, 1122 West Fourth street, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Coleen Kay, to Dan R. Pilkington, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Pilkington of Coeur d' Alene, Ida. Miss Nicodemus is a senior at Medford High school. Mr. Pilkington is attending North Idaho Junior college in Coeur d' Alene. Symens Eagle Point Mr. and Mrs. Llndsey Tibbits, Eagle Point, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lena Mae, to Gerald Lee Symens, son of Mrs. John Dickenson, Shady Cove, and John Symens, Anchor Point, Alaska. Miss Tibbits and Mr. Symens are graduates of Eagle Point High school. Mr. Symens is now serving with the United States Air Force at Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane, Wash. Women's Club To Hold Meeting on Monday Scottish Rites Women's club will meet Monday, January 28, at 8 p.m. in their clubrooms at the Masonic temple with Mrs. Fred Graten, Mrs. Lloyd Caton, Mrs. Melvin Krows and Mrs. Verl G. Miss Clinkinbeard, a graduate of Oregon State college, is now teaching at Washington School in Medford. Appointed to the floral com mittee were Mrs. Carrie Milnes, Mrs. Walter Kindred, and Miss Sadie De La Mater; visiting committee, Mrs. F. A. Religions Studied -By Guild Chapter Ruth Esther chapter of Wes leyan Service guild met Mon day evening in the Library room of the First Methodist church. Mrs. S. E. Philips, who has studied religion at Southern Oregon college and recently at tended a meeting on world rel igions at the University of Ore gon, was guest speaker. The group started a four months study on the church of South east Asia. Following the talk a discus sion was held by the group. Devotions were conducted by Mrs. C. E. Coggins. Hostesses were Mrs. Adamson, Mrs. Ray Gilbertson, Mrs. Florence Gilk ison, and Alberta Boardman. 1 Griffin Creek Unit To Meet on Friday Griffin Creek The February meeting of Griffin Creek Home Extension unit will be held at the home of Mrs. Iva Harper, 1599 South Columbus street, Fri day, February 1.
