Parenis-Siudenis Attend Church Series A series of vocational confer ences for high school students will start Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church in Phoenix. Sunday's program will include a panel that will discuss farm ing as a career. Panel members will include Jack Dube, agri culture instructor at Phoenix High school, John Kesler and Lawson Scott, farmers near Phoenix, and Glenn Klein, coun ty 4-H agent. A question and answer period will follow. Other vocations included in the series will be dentistry, en gineering, police work, and medical technology. All interested high school stu dents are invited to attend. The second in a series of Bible ftudy lessons for couples with children still in school will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the First Presbyterian church, Phoe nix, at 8 p.m. The purpose of the series which will continue through April, is to assist parents to know the Bible so they will be able to share it with their Children whether in grammar school or high school. The course is taught by the Rev. Ernest Volkman, pastor of the Phoenix church, and includes question and answer periods, discussions and lectures. Home work is assigned from the Bible as well as a text. . Approximately i5 parents at tended the last meeting of the class. All interested parents who have children in school are invited to attend. Interest Groups Continue Sunday At Methodist Church "Creative Activities in the Church School," an interdenom inational teacher-training course. under the leadership of Mrs Grover Corum, had near capacity attendance at the First Method- ist church. School of Christian Living. Spatter painting was demonstrated, as well as spray paint, and other design and art methods. On Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Corum will demon strate role playing as a part of the hours activity. Church School teachers from other churches are invited to attend. "Missions in the Cities" will be the topic for the interest group, "Missions USA," led by Miss June Wheaton. "Religion and the Arts," led by the Rev. John Taylor will be held in the church auditorium. The fourth interest group in the present series of the School of Christian Living, is the Membership class led by Mrs. Anne J. Gorby. The snack supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. by the Susannah and Gladamson Wesleyan. Service : guilds. Inspiration Time at 7 pjn., will feature a Flannel board story by the Rev. G. A. , Trobough. GUEST SPEAKERS Guest speakers at the adult forum at the Church of the : Brethren Sunday will be Dr, '-, and Mrs. Bert Elliott. The forum : begins at 7:45 p.m. The Elliotts : will present a travel talk on the ! mission emphasis eastward through Syria, Nineveh, Baby ; Ion, Ur of the Chaldeans, Basra, -Pakistan, and India. This presen tation will constitute one of a series of lessons in the annual . "School of Missions" program .of the church, usually held in tha month of January. CHURCH HISTORY SERIES The Rev. William C. Piper, minister of the First Christian church, will continue his series of evening services on church history. At the morning service his sermon will be 'Faith in God." The chancel choir under . the direction of Herbert S. Daniels will present two an thems. Douglas Cummings will be at the organ. Immediately following the morning service a coffee hour will be held in Fel lowship hall. The public is in- vited to attend. 9:09 CLUB DINNER ; The "9:09 Club" will hold a .'potluck dinner, Tuesday, Jan. 22, ' at 6:36 p.m., at the First Method ist church in Wesley hall. This is the group of visitors who call ed in 1955 on the membership of the church, in the interest of the 70th Anniversary campaign , which was for the benefit of the building program. The club will hear a report on the building program by Dr. Raymond E.
