Rites Take Place
In Sacred Heart
Miss Patricia Grace Pinniger
became the bride of Emil Con
rad Knutson in a ceremony held tz
Friday. December 28. at Sacred i
Heart Catholic church. The Rev.
John Ilg officiated at the
o'clock afternoon service.
The bride is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry B. Pinniger, 216
West Main street, Medford. The
bridegroom is a son of Mr. and
Mrs. Emil Knutson, 1030 Stew
art avenue, Medford.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a sheath
dress of white embroidered sat
in and carried white rosebuds.
Miss Marian Gillett, Roseburg
attended the bride. George
Knutson, brother of the bride,
served as best man. Richard and
Aundre Knutson, also brothers
of the bride, seated the guests.
Bruno Pellegrini played the
traditional wedding music.
Following the wedding a re
ception was given at the Thur
ston School of Dancing by Mrs.
Harry G. Pinniger, grandmother
of the bride.
The newlyweds are now at
home at 27 Lewis avenue, Med
ford, after a wedding trip to
southern California.
The bride attended Grants
Pass High school and Willamette
university. She is employed by
Andy's Jewelers. Mr. Knutson
attended St. Mary's High school
and is employed by Electrical
Products of Oregon.

A meeting of Gladamson unit
of Wesleyan Service guild will be

groom is a son of Mrs. John
W. Burns, Marysville, and N.
L. Nagler, formerly of Rogue
River now living in Beverly
Hills, Calif.
Judge Warren Steel officiated
at the five o'clock afternoon
ceremony held in the Marysville
home of Mrs. Burns.

Mineral Club
Installs Officers
The January meeting of the
Rnw Ann Gem and Mineral
club was opened by an instal
lation of the 1307 oliicers Dy
Delmar Smith.
After a short business meeting
Dr. Paul Olson, program chair
man, presented the four past
presidents of the club with the
"handle of the gavel" in appre
ciation of their services.
A mystery box has the mem
bers guessing as to its contents.
No one guessed correctly at this
meeting and must wait until the
February meeting before trying
again.
An exhibit of garnets was dis
cussed and other rocks displayed
by the members.
The exhibit of the month at
the U.S. National Bank is by

The Sams Valley Ladies club
will meet, Thursday, January 17,
at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs.

The club met January 3 at the
home of Mrs. Schultz for a thank
you party for last year's Sams
Squaws.

Saturday,' December 29, in the
Apostolic Faith church.
The Rev. Loyce Carver offici
ated at the ceremony attended
by 120 relatives and friends.
Baskets of poinsettias and white
stock decorated the church for
the 7 o'clock evening service.
The bride, given in marriage
by her brother, Ted Robert Boyd
of San Francisco, wore a balle
rina length dress of handclipped
lace over satin styled with fitted
bodice and bouffant skirt. She
carried a white orchid and stock
on a white Bible and wore a
white gold wrist watch, an en
gagement present from the
bridegroom.
Mrs. Henry Hoggard served
as her sister's honor attendant
and Miss Charlotte Lambert,
Roseburg, was bridesmaid. They
wore dresses of sapphire crystal
line and carried bouquets of
white carnations. Candlelighters
were Miss Susan Hurt and Miss
Rosemary Schleigh. Their dress
es were of green crystalline. Lit-
tale Christine Friesen flower
girl, wore a red crystalline frock
and carried a basket of flowers.

ed as best man and Henry Hog
gard, cousin of the bridegroom,
and Jerry McCollum, seated the
guests.
Miss Mary Hoover, friend of
the bride, came from Lewis and
Clark college in Portland to play
the traditional organ wedding
music. Mrs. Ted Boyd and
Lawrence Schleigh, uncle of the
bridegroom, were soloists.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held at the church.
Miss Margaret Lambert and Mrs.
McCollum cut and served the
tiered wedding cake and Mrs.
Don Bergman, sister of the
bridegroom, and Miss Carolyn
Breazeale, served the punch. Al

The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school and is a

pany. Mr. Schleigh is also a
graduate of Medford High school
and is employed by Standard Oil
of California in Medford. Janu
ary 20 he will report for duty
in the United States Army at
Fort Ord, Calif.
Training Session
Planned Thursday
A training session for pledges
of Beta Upsilon chapter, Beta
Sigma Phi sorority will, be con
ducted Thursday, January 17, at
8 p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Wayne Harris, 1516 South Ivy
street, vice-president of the
chapter.
Mrs. Carl Christenson was
hostess to . the chapter January
8. It was announced at the ex
ecutive board will draw new
by-laws for the group and pre
sent them at a chapter meeting

ess. The next chapter meeting is
planned for January 22 at 8
p.m. at the home of Mrs. Bost

film on breast cancer will be
shown and refreshments will be

Gold Hill Health unit will
meet Tuesday, January 22, at
the home of Mrs. Paul Malloy,
