Langlie issued a statement that a two-month study con vinced him there was insuffi cient evidence to warrant execu tive clemency for Mrs. Violet Marie Sill. Mrs. Sill, 27, was convicted of manslaughter for the shotgun slaying of her husband, Marion, at their Seattle home July 11, 1954. The confession of the woman, then a bride of 13 months said she killed him fol lowing an argument and then turned the gun on herself. FrIeUy, January 11. 1957 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE ELEVEN Air Force Plane Crashes Kill 12 Br UNITED PRESS Twelve persons were killed Thursday night in two separate crashes of giant U.S. Air Force planes. Six crew members of an $8 million B52 jet bomber were killed when the plane apparent ly exploded and crashed in rug ged country near the U.S. border in New Brunswick. The plane was reported on a "shake-down" flight from Lime stone, .Me., about 15 miles from the scene of the crash. A spokes man said the plane was "evident ly put in a position beyond its stress capabilities." Six crewmen were killed and three were injured at Bergstrom Air Force base near Austin, Tex., when their KB29 aerial tanker dropped onto the runway and burned as it came in for a landing. Among the dead was 2nd Lt. John Anderson Berg, Birken feld, Ore. Amtrican-Bom Poet Weds London Secretary . London (U.R) American born poet T. S. Eliot secretly wed his private secretary in a pre-dawn ceremony Thursday intimate friends reported today. They said the 68-year-old Eliot married Calerie Fletcher, described as "about 30," at the publishing firm of Gaber and Faber. Madras Plywood Mill Sel To Reopen Soon Madras U.R)R. A. Matott, manager of the Jefferson Ply wood company mill here, said today the plant would reopen on or before Jan. 28 after being closed since Nov. 19.
