Stepson Quizzed In Woman's Death Lebanon (U.R) Authorities today questioned an illiterate stepson in connection with the death of a 72-year-old Lebanon woman who was beaten at her home Saturday. Mrs. Mary Hattie Reppeto died of shock and hemorrhage from head and face wounds, ac cording to a Multnomah county coroner's report. She had been rushed by ambulance to Port land after she was found. Her husband, James Reppeto, told police he went for a walk and returned to his home about 30 minutes later to find his wife lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. Police said the 21-year-old stepson, Tommy Reppeto, who can neither read nor write, was being questioned. They said no charges had been filed against the youth and that he had denied killing his mother. Two pieces of fire wood, which officers said they believed were the weapons, were found in a wood box in a utility room at the rear of the house. Linn county sheriff George K. Miller said the entire kitchen and dining room areas of the home were covered with blood as a result of the attack. Dr. A. D. Blanchet, who was called to the home, said the woman "was struck 15 or 20 times." ROGUE RIVER PTA AUCTION WEDNESDAY, JAN. 9-8 p.m. Rogue River High School Gym Poultry Lamp Shades Rabbits Pictures .
