FOTJH MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRI3UNE Sunday, January 6. 1957 Williams-Coker Ceremony Held in Methodist Church ' Miss Alvidine Coker and George Kay Williams were mar ried December 23 in a two o' clock afternoon ceremony at First Methodist church. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Coker, Los Angeles, Calif., and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Williams, 121 Ashland avenue. '; Dr. Raymond Balcomb offici ated at the double-ring cere mony, attended by 150 guests. The couple made a wedding trip to Modesto, Calif., and will live at San Jose, Calif., where the bridegroom is a dental student at San Jose State college. For the ceremony the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over satin fashioned with fitted bodice, portrait neckjline and lace-paneled skirt ending in a chapel train. Her illusion veil was chapel length and was held by a crown of seed pearl. She carried red carnations centered with a white orchid. Miss Linda Coker was her sis ter's maid-of-honor and other attendants were Mrs. Robert Steffens and Mrs. Clifford Crites, the bridegroom's sister. In keep ing with the red and white color theme of the wedding the at tendants wore princess frocks of red with fitted bodices and full flaring skirts. They carried white carnations and wore head bands of these same flowers. Miss Carolyn Coker, sister of the bride, and Miss Chris Kel lingsworth, Medford, lighted the candles. They wore gowns of white flocked nylon with red velvet ribbon trim and their flowers were white carnation wristlets. Mr. Coker gave his daughter' In marriage and Larry Van Aus-; dall was best man for the bride- . groom. Alvis Coker Jr., the bride's brother, seated the guests. William Wilson was vocal so loist. For the wedding and the re ception which followed the ; bride's mother wore a grey wool ; dress with black accessories and ' pink carnation corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a grey satin and net dress with black accessories and her flowers were white roses. For traveling the bride wore a Navy blue faille suit with white lace collar and white orchid corsage. Order of Eastern Star, will hold a stated meeting Tuesday, January 8, at 8 p.m. at Masonic temple. Central Point. Mrs. Mel vin McGrew, worthy matron, will preside. Mrs. Blythe Hirst,Eugene, poured, and cut ting the cake were Mrs. J. W. Poague and Mrs. Jerry Igo. The bride was graduated from South Gate High school, Los Angeles, and if a professional singer. With her father and brother she makes records for the Decca company. The bride groom graduated from Medford High school before entering dental college. Here for the wedding were Mrs. Shirley Warder, Randy and Debbie; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hines and Rita, all of Modesto; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bruner. brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom from San Jose, and Mr. and Mrs. Blythe Hirst, Eugene. New Church Is Scene of Wedding Cave Junction Miss Sara Ann Hoskins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hoskins of Cave Junction, became the bride of Raymond Jones at a candlelight ceremony held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday, December 23 at the new Immanuel Methodist church in Cave Junction. The bride groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Jones, Lakewood, Calif. The Rev. Robert Kingsbury officiated at the single ring rites which were attended by families and friends of the popular young couple. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Frances Reinoehl, accompa nied by Mrs. Susan Lemon at the piano, was soloist. The bride's ballerina length gown of white lace and taffeta was worn with a veil of net trimmed with lace and caught with a petite taffeta headpiece. She carried a white Bible and a white orchid with lilies of the valley and white satin ribbon. Miss Mary Hoskins, her sister's maid of honor, wore a street length figured cotton dress in turquoise, gold and black. Her Christmas corsage was of silver and white. The bridesmaid, Miss La Verne Greenough, wore a street length frock of turquoise and a Christ mas corsage of silver and white. Alice and Frank Hoskins, sis ter and brother of the bride, served as candlelighters. The little flower girl, Lynda Lemon, wore a bouffant cotton dress in a shade of blue-green to match those of the attendants. Jack Sauer was best man, while ushers were Errol Wood bury and Joe Hoskins. Mrs. Hoskins chose a coral street length dress with a silver and white Christmas 'corsage. The bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Leo West of Newport, Ore., rep resented his mother who was unable to be present. She wore a rust colored satin suit. A reception at the Evergreen school in Cave Junction follow ed the wedding ceremony. The turquoise and white motif was used for the decorations. After the bride and bridegroom cut the wedding cake, the refresh ments were served by Mrs. Wil lard Decker, Mrs. Errol Wood bury and Bertha Champney. The newlyweds have taken a home on the Caves highway, near Cave Junction. Mrs. Jones was graduated from Illinois Valley High school in 1956. Her husband is an alumnus of Kerby Union High school. r Balloting and initiation are on the agenda for a meeting of Resms chapter, Order of East ern Star, at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 10 in the Medford Ma sonic hall. Mrs. Fred Graten will be chairman of refreshments, as sisted by Mrs. R. L. Ray. 0Ve Rebekah Lodge Announces Meeting Olive Rebekah lodge will meet at the Odd Fellows hall, 221 West Sixth street, Monday, Jan uary 7, at 8 p.m. Mrs. J. D. Brummond, noble grand, will preside for her last meeting and Mrs. Homer Vin zant, noble grand-elect, will give the Rebekah work. Mrs. Lee Garret, Mrs. Vinzant's daughter, vice grand-elect, will give the vice-grand's work.
