Walker (Landis-Shangte photo) Southern Oregon college after graduation from Medford High school. Mrs. Walker is also a graduate of Medford High school and later attended Oregon State college. She was graduated from Southern Oregon college earlier this month. The bride's sorority is Sigma Kappa, and the bridegroom's fraternity is Tau Kappa Epsilon. For traveling the bride wore a suit of charcoal brown with gold colored accessories. The rehearsal party was held Saturday, December 22, at the home of the bridegroom's family for members of the wedding party. A buffet supper was served. Many Parties Bring Holidays To Close Here Numerous parties this week end are bringing the holiday season to a close. The largest of these will be given by clubs and lodges, and others ore planned by Medford couples. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Lynch, 2148 Woodlawn drive, will hold open house today in celebration of the New Year. About 100 guests have been invited to call. Among the guests will be Mr. Lynch's mother, Mrs. T. E. Daniels of this city. Also entertaining at a holiday open house today are Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Bolton. The Boltons have invited friends to their home, 527 Spencer avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore M. Garhart will be hosts today for an informal New Year party at their home, 1017 Redriy avenue. The event will provide an op portunity for the guests to meet Mrs. Garhart's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Meloth, Los Angeles. The Meloths are en route to Europe where they plan to spend the next two years traveling. Guests will be received be tween three and six o'clock. Dr. and Mrs. John L. Welch have planned a small holiday open house party at their home. 2618 Jackson drive. It will be held Tuesday. New Y'ear's day. In Medford for the party are Dr. Welch's parents. Dr. and Mrs. Howard Welch, Los Gatos. Calif. They will return south later this week. Many parties are planned to precede traditional New Year's eve dances. One of these is to be given by Mr. and Mrs. James S.. Cummins at their home. 2671. Hillcrest road. Cocktails will be served from 6 30 to 8 30 o'clock and many of the guests will con tinue on to the dance at Rogue Vallev Country club later. A no host party will be given New Year's eve at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Smith. 102 Black Oak drive. Attending will be about 12 couples who tradi tionally spend New Y'ear's eve together. Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. John C. Cotton and Mr and Mrs. Ben Lombard of Ash land held open house for friends. The party was held at the Cot ton home on Prospect avenue. Sunday. December 30. 195S Catholic Ceremony Weds Pair 1 ' Miss Marylyn Jean Paup be came the bride of Richard Keith , Morehead in a ceremony held Saturday, December 15, at 2 I o'clock in the afternoon at Sa ; cred Heart Catholic church. The 1 j Rev. John Ilg officiated at the i double ring rites attended by im-1 ! mediate families of the couple. Miss Paup is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Paup, 721 South Holly street. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack More head, Lebanon, Ore. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a white em- ; broidered satin ballerina length i dress styled on princess lines. ; Her veil was finger-tip length i and she carried white carnations encircling a white orchid, i Miss Judy Paup attended her sister. She wore a blue velvet princess style dress with short sleeves and matching pumps and hat. The hat was trimmed with whife wheat pearls and she car ried blue pompon chrysanthe mums with blue ribbon stream ers. Richard Paup, brother of the bride, served as best man. Wedding music was played by Bruno Pelligrini. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Paup wore a rose shantung suit with black accessories. Mrs. Morehead chose a dress of red silk and cotton with white ac cessories. Both wore white chrys anthemum corsages. Following the ceremony a dinner was held at the Darda nelle by the parents of the new lywed couple. After a wedding trip to Portland the couple will make their home in Norfolk, Va.. I where the bridegroom is serving aboard the USS F. D. Roosevelt as an aviation storekeeper sec ond class in the United States Navy. The bride is a graduate of St. Mary's High school and Provi dence School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse on the staff at Sacred Heart hospital. The bridegroom was graduated from High school in Lebanon. Football Fans To Attend Game Medford residents planning to see the Rose parade and foot ball game New Year's day in Pasadena, include Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Hibbs, 190 White Oak drive, who will leave today for California and remain in Pasa dena after the New Year for a short vacation. Traveling together by train to the game are Mr. and Mrs. William Leever, 2069 Spring brook road, Mr. Leever's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Leever, Phoenix, Ariz., who have been houseguests here, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Whalin, 128 Val ley View road. The Earl Leevers will con tinue on to their home in Ari zona after the game while the other couples will vacation in San Francisco before returning to Medford. Also attending the parade and game will be Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Jewett, 921 Winchester av enue, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chipman, Highland drive. Mr. Jewett is sports editor for The Medford Mail Tribune and Mr. Chipman, sports enthusiast, is wire editor for the paper. Some will be given Monday evening, and others Tuesday, New Year's day. For many years Colony club members have observed New Year's day with a party, and the traditional event will be held Tuesday at the club house. About 100 members and guests are ex pected: cocktails and supper will be served. Mrs. George Roberts is chair man in charge, with Mrs. Frank Preston assisting. Mrs. Dunbar Carpenter is president of the club. One of the largest parties will be at Rogue Valley Country club where the annual New Year's eve formal dance is planned for ivfonday night. Hours are from 9 until two o'clock. The committee on arrange ments is Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mit chell. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Stram and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Koblik. Another large party, on New Year's eve will be the annual Elk's lodge dance to be held at the temple. Favors and noise makers will provide a festive air for the party, and an hour's pro gram will feature two profession al entertainers from Hollywood. They will be Don Marlowe, comedian, and Doris Powers, singer and night club star. Bill Crocker Here For Holiday Visit Bill Crocker has arrived in Medford after being discharged from the United States Army. His most recent assignment was with the atomic small arms de partment at Killeen base, Kil leen, Tex. Mr. Crocker, who is spending the holidays with his cousin. After the-middle of January the couple will be at home in Palo Alto, Calif. The bride is the former Miss Calista Farrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farrell, Siski you court, and Dr. Aubert is a son of Mrs. Karl Fearnley Aub ert, Oslo. Norway, and the late Mr. Aubert. The marriage ceremonv took place at the Farrell home at 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon on Sat urday, December 15. The Rev. Elvin Tollefson of Ascension Lutheran church officiated, and Mr. Farrell gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. Otto Frohn mayer played the wedding mu sic. For the ceremony the bride wore a gown of sand colored satin ' fashioned with low cut bodice banded in a darker shade and a bouffant skirt. Her satin headband with brief veil and her slippers matched the gown. She carried a nosegay of violets with a talisman rose in-the cen ter. Mrs. Alvin Zelver of Menlo Park. Calif., attended her sister as matron-of-honor. She wore a mink colored frock with full skirt of satin and matching wool bodice fashioned with low cut neckline and bracelet length sleeves. Her headdress and slip pers matched the frock and her flowers were a nosegay of gold en colored pompon chrysanthe mums centered with violets. The bride's mother wore a gown of mink colored faille and brown orchid corsage. Alvin Zelver served as best man for the bridegroom. About 100 guests attended the ceremony and the reception which followed. Miss Phyllis Tengwald cut the wedding cake. Pouring and assisting were Miss Beatrice Challis. San Fran cisco; Miss Joan Elliott. Port land, and Mrs. Barney Orovitz, San Francisco. The cake table, covered with Honored Miss Donna Mullin, formerly of Medford and now making her home in Inglewood, Calif., was honored at a party Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Donald Hale, 1076 Stewart ave nue, Medford. Guests included Mrs. Jack Johnson, Mrs. Raoul Maddox. Mrs. Crocker Hunter and Miss Darlene Frohreich, all 1951 class graduates of Medford high school. "YEAR END" rens si ol or 99 99 Jf and 105 E. The living room mantel held a stylized arrangement of white carnations and white stephano tis in two white chalice-shaped compotes. For the wedding trip south the bride wore a princess type brown tweed dress with ivory colored Borgana coat. The bride was graduated from file University of Oregon and la ter did advanced study at Stan ford university. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma soror ity.. Dr. Aubert holds a research fellowship at the Center for Ad vanced Study in Behavioral Sciences, Stanford, Calif.
