Susie was born in Medford April 7, 1955, and had been in Phoenix for the past two months for her health. Steels and Special Issues Pace Market In Accident Mr. and Mrs. Jay Sly, Vancouver. Wash., son-in-law and daughter of Mrs. Margaret Fabrick, 358 Highland dr., were injured in an automo bile accident near Vancouver, Monday, according to reports re ceived here. Mrs. Sly suffered a broken leg and multiple lacera tions, and is confined to Memo rial hospital in Vancouver. THOMPSON Funeral services for Harvey Logan Thompson, 72, of Med ford, who died Sunday, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster of the St. Marks Episcopal church will officiate. Committal will be in Phoenix cemetery. Pallbearers will include Ed Zemke, Basil Curtis, John Kan tor, Charles Ferns, Ray LeVan der and Lester Can-. Mr. Thompson was born in Carroll county. Missouri. Aug. 24, 1884. On Feb. 23, 1911, in Visalia, Calif., he was married to Jewell Ellen Miles, who sur vives. They lived in Braymer, Mo., and in 1914 moved to Prow ers county, Colorado. In 1936 they moved to Jackson county where Mr. Thompson was em ployed as foreman at the Sunny cliff orchard in Fern valley for the past 16 years. , Survivors, besides his wife, in clude a sister. Mrs. Eva Green, Braymer, Mo.: five children, Mrs. E. E. Carl, Shaftsburg, Mich.: Mrs. Walter Love, Ash land; Mrs. E. J. Finley, Tigard; Rodney and Owen Thompson, Medford, and six grandchildren. A son, Harold, was killed in ac tion in World War II. New York 0J.R) Steels and special issues paced stocks sharply higher for the second straight session today. The rise, which saw individu al issues up as much as nine points at their highs, was view ed as a sign the traditional year end rally was underway. Dupont was the individual standout, rising more than nine points. Other chemicals were firm. American Cyanamid hit a new high. Steels put on the best show of strength. Lukens was up more than six points at its high and it hit a new high for the year. Bethlehem ran up around two and also touched a new top. U.S. Steel was at a new high on a gain of around a point.
