The Oregon State Fair showed a net oper ating profit of 352,775 plus cap ital improvements of $18,112, it was revealed at the annual De cember meeting of the State fair commission here Friday. Fair Manager Leo Spitzbart said the fair now has a reserve operating fund of 5207,433. Commission chairman Dr.v E. B. The combined rodeo and horse show showed a profit of 51,262, Spitzbart said, and plans were discussed for another such show next year. Asks Wilderness Area Boundaries Be Left Washington (U.P.) Sen. Wayne Morse (D-Ore.), said Sat urday he had asked the depart ment of agriculture to leave the boundaries of the Three Sisters wilderness area in central Ore gon unchanged until a con gressional committee has had a chance to study wilderness area policies. Morse wrote to Assistant Sec retary E. L. Peterson, former Oregon agriculture director, that he was disturbed by the possi bility that tens of thousands of acres might be removed from the Three Sisters wildness area. The senator told Peterson ' It does not seem wise to consider modification of the Three Sis ters wilderness area boundaries for the avowed purpose of mak ing timber available" until it is determined whether present pol icies will bring the timber har vest in the state up to realistic level.
