Mrs. Ethel Cushman has re turned to her job of teaching, this week, after being home for several days due to illness. Mary Frison is home from schopl with a throat infection. Mrs. Veda Neville, librarian, announced that the Prospect public library received over 50 new exchange books last week. Mrs. Archie McKillop was skiing down the road by her home last Thursday. A bridge group met at the home of Mrs. Thelma Carson, Thursday, Dec. 8. Mrs. Steve Larson won first prize, Mrs. O. E. Stone, second, and Mrs. Dar Bevens, third. Luncheon guests at the Jim Garret home on Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hulse and son Lonnie. Mrs. Bill McCracken, a form er resident has been ill. The McCrackens now live at Eagle Point. Several members of St Marth as Guild have been working on a hooked rug for the Church of the Good Shepherd. Each woman works on blocks which are later put together. It is being made of variegated wool. They had enough put together to put in front of the altar during Conformation service on Sunday, Dec. 9, and it will also be used for the Christmas ser vice. The entire rug should be finished by spring. Prospect High school basket ball team lost their first confer ence game which was played at Talent Dec. 8, by eight points. Mrs. D. Stone is visiting friends in Klamath Falls and vicinity. The remodeling of the Blaine service station is nearing com pletion. Mrs. Randall Barry and chil dren have gone to Michigan to visit friends and relatives. Mr. H. Robins of Skeeters' camp had a heart attack, and was rushed to the hospital in Medford Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Partan and fam ily have gone to Texas for the Christmas holidays. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Dickenson and family on Sunday were Mrs. Dixon, and daughter Trixie, and Jeanie Mitchell of Medford. Mrs. Ludo Grieves has been ill and confined to her home. The Evangelistic meetings will end Sunday at 8 p.m., Dec. 16 at the Cascade Gorge Christian church. Illinois Roommate Slays Grid Player Carbondale, 111. UPJ An inquest was scheduled today into the slaying of a Southern'Illin ois university football star by his portly roommate during a dispute over a minor prank. Fred Sinroll, 20, Sterling, 111., admitted killing one of his three roommates with a shotgun blast Wednesday, but claimed the shooting was accidental. He was held without bail on murder charges filed by Sheriff Howard Cheatham. The victim, Robert Batura, 19, Danvers, Mass., a sophomore and star pass receiver on the SIU squad, was shot in the head at point blank range by a charge from a 12 gauge shotgun. The other two roommates, John Abromovitch, 21, Haver hill, Mass., described as "prac tically a brother" to Batura, and Henry Hillman Jr., 18, Park Ridge, 111., were hospitalized for shock after the shooting. SNOW REMOVAL Milwaukee (U.R) A giant snowplow, able to cut a 16-foot swath through snow of any depth, recently was sent by the Milwaukee Railroad to Labra dor. The giant rotary plow, which stands 16 feet, four inches, will be used to keep the tracks serving Labrador's rich iron ore deposits free of snow. WARNING Memphis, Tenn. (U.P.) John Hull has gone to San Jose, Calif., but will be home again for the holidays. Sgt. and Mrs. Delbert Robert son are parents of a baby girl born Nov. 9 in Toule, France. This makes the third child for the couple. Her name is Linda. Paternal grandparents of the baby, named Linda Lee, are Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Robertson.
