November 25. 1956 Miss Janet Dempster Wed To James Henry Lynch III An event of Saturday, Novem ber 17, was the, wedding of Miss Janet Marie Dempster to James Henry Lynch III at Sacred Heart Catholic church here. The double-ring nuptial mass was celebrated at 10 o'clock in the morning by the Rev. John A. Ilg. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus J. Demp ster, 1025 South Holly street, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. James H. Lynch, Port land. About 150 guests were present for the ceremony and 100 attend ed the reception which followed at Mon Desir inn. Bruno Pellegrini was at the church organ. Yellow, gold and white chrysanthemums decorat ed the church. The bride's gown was a Cahill original fashioned of white Alen con lace and hand-pleated tulle. She carried white roses and stephanotis and her finger-tip length veil was held by a Juliet cap. Miss Sue Dempster was her sister's honor attendant. She wore a ballerina frock of bronze crystalette and carried bronze spider chrysanthemums. Also at tending the bride were Miss Pat Mitchell, Albany, Ore., Mrs. Thomas Rodgers, Ashland, and Miss Dolores Lynch, Portland, sister of the bridegroom. Their frocks were of apricot colored crystalette and their bouquets were gold colored chrysanthe mums. Their costumes were completed with matching head bands and pearl necklaces. Daphne and Walter Holman, niece and nephew of the bride groom, were flower girl and ring bearer. Mr. Dempster escorted his daughter to the altar and seat ing the guests were Philip Archer, Portland. Robert South erland, Central Point and Rex Burris, Portland. The bride's mother wore a frock of champagne color with gold brocade trim, a brown feathered hat and brown acces sories. Her flowers were yellow roses. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a navy blue dress with matching hat and white accents. Her corsage was of white roses. The bride's grandmother, Mrs. E. Fraley, wore navy blue with pink carnation corsage. , Mon Desir inn was arranged with fall flowers for the recep tion. Mrs. Walter Holman, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Emily Crowe, Salem, cut and served the wedding cake and presiding at the punch bowl were Miss Marne Christenson, Salem, and Miss Bea Solosobal, Boise, Ida., Marylhurst class mates of the bride. Pouring cof fee were Miss Dolores Zeleznik Kiwanian Dames To Hold Election Kiwanian Dames will hold election of officers for the com ing year at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, November 27, to be held at the home of Mrs. Chester A. Hubbard, 2451 Ly man avenue. Luncheon will be served at 12 noon with Mrs. Wil liam E. Bracker, Mrs. Paul Mc Duffee, Mrs. H. Chandler Drew and Mrs. E. R. Duce as host esses. All members are asked to bring the doll clothing they have made for "Kiwani Ann." A social afternoon, with bridge and canasta, is planned to fol low the business meeting. All wives of Kiwanis club members are invited to attend, and reservations may be made by calling Mrs. John Pletsch, telephone 2-8116. Miss Marcia Lynch, sister of the bridegroom, took charge of the guest book. Mr. Lynch and his bride spent their honeymoon in San Fran cisco and the Bay area and will live in Portland. For traveling the bride wore a shrimp colored wool suit with black accessories and a corsage of white roses from her wedding bouquet. The bride is a graduate of St. Mary's school, Medford, and attended Marylhurst college, Os wego. The bridegroom, a man ager in the circulation depart ment of the Portland Oregonian, attended Columbia Preparatory High school, Portland, the Uni versity of Oregon and Portland State college. In addition to members of the wedding party, out - of - town guests included the bridegroom's family. Pre-wedding parties included a rehearsal dinner given at the Medford hotel Friday everting for 25 guests. . f ' Robbins-Harris Rites Announced Mr. and Mrs. George William Robbins, who were married No vember 10 in Reno, Nev., are making their home at 823 West Tenth street, Medford. The bride is the former Betty La Verne Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Harris, 271 South Stage road, and the bridegroom is the stepson of Robert New man, 401 East Twelfth street, Medford. Following the wedding, held in the Park chapel in Reno, the couple took a honeymoon trip into California. The bride, a graduate of Phoe nix High school, is employed in the business office of The Med ford Mail Tribune. Mr. Robbins, recently discharged from the United States Army at Ft Lewis is now employed at the power plant of California-Oregon Pow er company at Toketee Falls. He attended Medford High school before entering the service. Shirley DeGraff And Bill Sheedy Wedded Saturday Miss Shirley . Ann DeGraff, formerly of Jacksonville and now living in Crescent City, Calif., became the bride of Bill Sheedy, Crescent City, in a cere mony Saturday, October 27, at 8 o'clock in the evening at the home of the bride's father on Knowles roai. in Medford. Miss DeGraff is the daughter of Andy A. DeGraff, Medford, and Mrs. Geneveive DeGraff, Crescent City. For her wedding the bride wore a rose pink suit with wint er white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Attending the couple wert Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Bowers ot Coos Bay, sister and brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Mrs. Bowers wore a navy blue suit with white carnations. Dr. Norman K. Tully, minist er of the First Presbyterian church in Jacksonville, officiat ed. Miss Judy Winningham and Miss Gloria DeGraff,- sister of the bride, were candlelighters. Miss Winningham wore a blue dress and Miss DeGraff wore pink. Mrs. Leo Schmelzer was in charge of the guest book. Out of town guests included the mother of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. E. McFall, grandpar ents of the bride, from Eureka,' Calif. The bride attended Jackson ville schools. The newlywed couple will make their home in Crescent City, Calif. Perry assisting Mrs. Brand. The McAllisters, lonq-time residents of Medford, moved recently to Salem but are often in Medford. They are spending the week end at their home here, and attended the wedding yesterday of Miss Glenna James lo Arthur Eldridge Symons Jr., of Seattle. PP We Gift Jenifer Bartling Becomes Bride Of Gordon Ordal Brownsboro Miss Jenifer Melissa Bartling became the bride of Gordon Monroe Ordal in a ceremony .held Saturday, October 20 in Faith Lutheran church, Bellingham, Wash. The Rev. John Timberg officiated at the afternoon wedding attended by close friends and relatives of the couple. Miss Bartling is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Bart ling, Brownsboro. Mr. Ordal is the son of Mrs. O. J. Ordel and the late Rev. Mr. Ordal, of Bellingham. -The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Kenneth Brand, wore a navy blue suit, with white accessories.
