Ennis, 31-yei-old, native PhU- adajphian who has played the entire 11 years of his Major league career with the Phillies, broke a record set by Chuck. Klein in the 1930s when he hit 26 homers last season for a life time total of 259. Klein hit 243 DroT In 100 Runs Ennis drove in at. .least 100 runs in four straight seasons prior ti 1953, when- he batted across 95 with a .260 batting av erage. A na tive of Sauk City, Minn., the strapping outfielder hit .277 last season and .270 the year before, banging out 34 home runs In the 1955 season. . Utility infielder Morgan, from Oklahoma City, played with the Phillies in 1954, 1955 and part of last season before being trad ed to St. Louis in May. He broke into the majors with the Brook lyn Dodgers in 1950. His highest Major league batting mark was .262 with the Phils in 135 games during the 1954 season. HOCKEY . New York (U.R) Bo Elik of Cleveland and Paul Larivee of Providence were deadlockec" today for American Hockey league scoring honors for the second straight week, according to official league statistics. Elik scored three goals dur ing the week ending Sunday while Larivee added a like number of assists to give each a total of 23 points. Elik. who Is in his freshman year with the Barons, was the league's lead ing goal-getter with 17. Montreal (U.R) Ted Lind say of the Detroit Red Winss. the fourth 300-goal scorer in Na tional Hockey league history, to day was tied with Montreal's Jean Beliveau for first place in the loop's individual scoring race. Lindsay reached the 300-goa! level Sunday night with a three goal burst against the Canadiens at Detroit. He also added three assists during the past week for a total of 22 points in 15 games. Beliveau. playing in three more games, had eight goals and 14 assists. Gordie Howe of the Red Wings was only one noint back of the co-leaders with nine goals and 13 assists. Maurice Richard of the Canadiens was fourth with 17 points. DIRECTOR CUT Portland (U.R) Stockhold ers of the Portland baseball club passed a resolution last night to cut the board of directors from nine to seven members. The board will meet later to elect of ficers. Total gross income of the club last season was S470.074 with expenses listed at $448,-794. CHARITY GAME San Antonio. Tex. (U.R) Notre Dame of Kerrville. Tex., will play the Optimist Pee Wees of McKeesport, Pa., in the Milk Bowl charity football game here Dec. 15. A crowd of 20.000 is ex pected to witness the annual classic for youngsters 14 years old and younger. SERVICES TO BE HELD Portland (U.R) Funeral services for Tex Salkeld, Port land boxing promoter, who died last Saturday, will be held at Finley's mortuary here at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The family ask ed that no flowers be sent but that contributions instead be made to the March of Dimes. RECORD SMASHED Hilversum, Holland (U.R) Four Dutch swimmers smashed the world record for the 400 meter women's medley relay on Monday night with a clocking of four minutes, 54.3 seconds. The existing record of 4:57.8, is held by a Hungarian relay team. HARTACK RIDES THREE Pimlico, Md (U.R) Willie Hartack rode three winners at Pimlico Monday to increase his total for the year to 339.
