"If we go to a movie. I must choose the show. If we cat out. I must select the restaurant and the menu. If she wants a new hat, I must go with her to vote on the color. She cannot decide on anything: But what burns me up, is that she says 1 cannot make decisions:" Many indecisive people hon estly believe that everyone else is unable to make decisions, and that their opinions are decisive and clearcut. This common de vice, called "projection," saves them from admitting how timid and insecure they are. Others delay action until need for a deci sion is past. Still others wait for someone else to reach decisions for them. Psychology now recognizes in decisiveness as one of the most widespread and persistent af- Society Holiday Season Events Planned !n Butte Falls Butte Falls Butte Falls Lions auxiliary met recently at the Butte Falls General store to discuss projects for the coming holiday season. The auxiliary has assumed a large financial obligation in the field of community welfare and Mrs. Bruce Pingle, president, re ported that almost 40 percent has been paid on this obligation. All auxiliary members were asked to read an article in the September issue of the McCalls magazine giving Lion auxiliaries recognition for their work with the visually handicapped. As a money-making project for December members are pre paring a large Christmas basket to go on display after the first of the month. A post Halloween and early Thanksgiving box is being pre pared for a boy at the Oregon State School for the Blind. This is a major project of the club. A new idea for making money is the "jalopy brunches." It was announced at this meeting that the time of brunch, morning or afternoon would be left up to the hostess. Tentative plans have been made for a Christmas 'goodies sale." As next regular meeting date is so close to Thanksgiving, a special meeting will be called. Members will be notified as to date and time. Dinner Shrine Ladies will hold a pot luck dinner Monday, November 19. at the home of Mrs. A. C. Leighton. Old Stage road, at 6:30 o'clock. In fact, according to some authorities, four out of five nervous break downs are associated with worry and indecision. And the tragic part about this problem is that most indecisive people never be come aware of their own weak ness, and can therefore never overcome what may lead to even greater uphappiness and malad justment. How do you know if you are indecisive? "Of course, I can make up my mind," you answer scornfully. "Only sometimes. I get hung up on little details?" Do you? Do you really know what you want to do, to say, to to wear, to be? Take a close look at yourself and measure your YES and NO power against the following: 1. You often return goods after purchasing. 2. In a restaurant, you wait to see what your companions are ordering before indicating your choice. 3. You prefer to follow a set routine day after day and be come unduly upset by sudden changes in schedule. 4. You fear mistakes and often do nothing rather than risk fail ure. 5. You generally feel that the world does not appreciate you and your efforts sufficiently, and that you are somehow "getting a raw deal" in all of your re lationships. 6. You are almost always tired, even in the morning. If your answers are mostly YES, then you are probably not as decisive as you should be. Relief lies in honest and sincere effort, either through your own awareness or through' the aid of an experienced and sympathetic counselor. School- Operators ! To Attend Session Mrs. Ethel Tennant, chairman of the Southern Oregon Pre school association, will leave to morrow by plane for Eugene where she will attend the fourth meeting of the Oregon State Pre-School association.
