But Medford principal Lester Harris reported this morning there are some 200 tickets yet available at the school office fnr seats in the reserve grand- atand. Most of th scuts left are "down in front" but others are in scattered spots through the stand. Game time will be t 8:15 p.m.. the usual kick-off moment for Black Tornado home games c throughout the season:. The Gresham club, champion - In District 3 and unmarred and untied in nine games this sea son; is scheduled to arrive in Medford a day ahead of the game. Coach Brad Eeklund will put his Gopher charges' through a workout Thursday evening at the stadium. No. 2 ranked, undefeated and tied only by No. 1 Marshfield. will field a team with one of Oregon prepdom's most impres sive offensive records. The Black Tornado aims to make the third time a charm in quest of state titular honors. District 6 winner for three straight seasons, Med ford's championship hopes were blasted in 1954 and 1955 by Marshfield's Pirates in quarter final contention. Winner of the fracas on the Medford field will advance into the semi-finals against either Benson of Portland or McMinn ville, which two clubs are con tending also Friday. The Tornado gridders covered considerable ground last night on the practice field but head coach Fred Spiegelberg did not turn loose his stalwarts full blast. A dummy scrimmage, a pass scrimmage and defenses against the Gophers were on the Tuesday agenda. Backs worked on pass defense and individual work also included )ine defense. Spiegelberg indicated that his club was in good physical trim with the exception of halfback Eldon Francis, who has a thigh bruise. The mentor hoped that the scatback would be able to run in today's drill but said that there would be no contact work for Francis in today's and Thurs day workouts. . Baltimore, Md. Jack Burns MIBL Head; Meeting Set Jack Burns, of Company A of the National Guard, was elected president of the Medford Independent Basketball league last night and has called a ses sion for Thursday evening to complete organization of the circuit. "The meeting will be at 8 p.m. at the Medford armory. Burns said that eight teams are definitely lined up with one other entry possible. He stated that it was hoped that a 10th club could be added to balance out the loop. The new president asked all team managers to be on hand Thursday. It is planned to set up the schedule, complete the by-laws and discuss fees and gymnasium facilities. McAndrews Road Eagles Drill on Punting; Will Meet Pleasant Hill In Saturday A-2 Scuffle Eagle Point Coach Stan Smith drilled the Eagle Point Eagles on their punting game this week as the District 6 cham pionship club prepared for its first entry into state A-2 play off quarter-finals. Arrangements for the skir mish with Pleasant Hill were confirmed' yesterday. The scrap will be at 8 p.m. Saturday on the Eagle Point gridiron. Smith said that assignments on both punt formation and punt receiving were getting a special going over this week, that portion of the game show ing particular need for work.
