Tabor attended Benson Technical school in Portland and served with the United States Army in Korea for two years. He is an announcer at radio sta tion KYJC. The wedding will take place in January 1957. Women's Group Plans Noon Prayer Fellowship The monthly noon prayer fel lowship of Christian Business and Professional Women will be held Monday, October 29, at First Baptist Church annex. Those desiring to attend may bring a sack lunch and come at any time between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Coffee and tea will be served by Mrs. Ethel Van Cleave. Miss Kain, who attended Ore gon State college, is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was graduated from Beaver ton High school. Mr. Hamilton is a graduate of Grants Pass High school and is now a senior in the school of pharmacy at Oregon State col lege. He is a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. Mrs. Ray Ragsdale was wel comed as a new member. The next meeting will be held zt the horne of Mrs. Fred Breug ger with a potluck dinner to be served. Those attending are ask ed to take a gift-wrapped hat to be auctioned. Members are reminded to save rummage, plants, books, and salable' objects for a sale to be held December 1 at the Fehl building in Medford. Mrs. V e r m a n Bonebrake's committee was asked to serve the Lions dinner on November 12 at the Teenage building. It was voted to give attendance pins to those with perfect at tendance for the year. Refreshments were served and a cake baked by Mrs. Bone brake was .presented to Mrs. Martin, as it was her birthday. Auxiliary of Veterans of World War I Barracks 540 will sponsor a dance at Camp White Domiciliary Monday, October 29, at 8 p.m. The women who are planning to attend are asked to bring cakes. Mr. Whiteley is a graduate of Jacksonville High school and is now attend ing Southern Oregon college. No date has been set for the wedding. Rites Held In Longview For Couple Mrs. Merle L. Vance, 714 Nar regan street, traveled to Rainier, Ore., last weekend to attend the marriage of her younger son, ! Kenneth Vance, to Miss Karen Stiener, Rainier, Saturday eve ning, October 20. The rites were read by the Rev. Gebhert, pastor of the Community church of Long view, Wash. The simple cere mony was conducted in the chap el of the Longview church with only members of the immediate families and close friends at tending. A reception following the cer emony was held in the Rainier Grade school auditorium. About 50 friends and relatives were present. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Esther Stiener, Rainier, and Joe Steiner, Seattle, Wash. She was graduated from the Rainier High school with the class of 1956 and is employed in the office of an attorney, Joe Walker, in Rainier. Mr. Vance is a graduate of Medford Senior High school with the class of 1953, and is a former employee of the Medford Mail Tribune. The bridegroom lived here all of his life until the com pletion of his schooling in 1953, when he moved to Rainier where he has been employed by his father, Cecil Vance; at the Good at Rainier Sand and Gravel com pany of that city. His older brother, Elbert, is stationed with the U. S. Navy in Sasebo, Japan. After the reception the couple traveled to Seattle for a honey moon. They will make their home in Rainier. Autumn Salad Timely autumn salad com bines cool green cucumbers and bright red apples and is equally delicious served with meat, fish or fowl. Start by cutting two unpeeled red Delicious apples' into bite-sized wedges. Slice or dice two cucumbers. Blend to gether two tablespoons lemon juice and two tablespoons may onnaise and add to the applet and cucumbers. Season with salt and toss lightly until well mix ed.
