The Rev. James Neeley of First Baptist church, officiated at the double ring ceremony at the home of Miss Sweeney's par ents, Mr. and Mr. Rex Sweeney, 714 Beekman avenue. Miss Allen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Hoover Route 2, Box 47A, Central Point, end was married to Donald Dean Copley. The bridegrooms are the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Copley, Route 1, Box 115, Eagle Point. Two baskets of chrysanthemums in autumn colors flanked the arch. Mrs. James Neeley played the wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, Miss Sweeney chose a white knit suit with pink acces sories for her wedding. Miss Allen wore a princess style dress of pastel aquamarine with pink accessories. She was given in marriage by her brother, Hugh A. Huntley. Both brides carried white carnations tied with pink tibbon on. white Bibles, gifts from the bridegrooms. Matron of honor for the two brides was Mrs. James L. Mc Daniel, sister of Miss Sweeney. She wore a rose knit suit and tarried white carnations. James Lee McDaniel served both bridegrooms as best man. Michel Copley, cousin of the bridegroom, -ushered. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the Sweeney home for 65 friends and relatives of the newlywcds. Miss Jean Coppedge cut and served the tiered wedding cake. Miss Ruth Hunter served the punch. Mrs. Fred Landers was in charge of the guest book for Miss Sweeney while Mrs. Hugh Huntley attend ed the guest book for Miss Allen. For the wedding Mrs. Hoover rnd Mrs. Copley chose suits in aquamarine color while Mrs. Sweeney wore a pink knit suit. All had corsages of white carna- t.'on. The former Miss Sweeney is a graduate of Medford High school. The former Miss Allen attend ed Medford High school and was graduated from Lincoln High school in Portland. She is em ployed in Enterprise, Ore. The bridegrooms are graduates of Eagle Point High school and are both airman in the United States Air Force. They report ed to New York this week from where they will leave for Libya, Africa, for two years of duty. Practical Nurses To Hold Election Medford chapter, Oregon Li censed Practical Nurses' associa tion, will meet Monday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart hospital. Mrs. Bessie Baldwin, presi- ! dent, will preside at this meet ing. Officers for the year will be elecled, and a report of the LPN association activities for the preceding year and the state convention will be given. Mrs. Baldwin states that the meeting is an important one. Miss Myra Phelps, David Robertson Married in Reno Park Wedding chapel in Reno, Nev., was the setting Saturday, October 1, for the afternoon wedding of Miss Myra J. Phelps to David E. Robertson. Miss Phelps is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Phelps, 518 North Bartlett, Medford. Mr. I Robertson is the son of Mr. and Mrs,. E. G. Robertson, Route 1, Box 23, Talents The Rev. Gareth Hughes offi ciated at the double ring cere mony, i Miss Phelps wore for her wed ding a knit suit of charcoal color with white orchid corsage. Mrs. Roger Harshman, Talent, attended the bride. She wore a red knit suit with white gar denia corsage. Mr. Harshman served as best man. For the wedding the altar was decorated with flowers and candles in candelabra. Miss Phelps attended Crater High school and is a graduate of Talent High school. She is serv ing with the U. S. Army in the Women's Army Corps and re cently was graduated from Chemical School at Fort McClel- lan, Ala. She will return to duty as a chemical laboratory techni cian at Edgewater, Md., October 28. . Mr. Robertson attended Eagle Point and Talent High schools and is employed as a driver by Taylor and Baylor Logging of Talent. Hayes-Cochran Ceremony Held In Ashland Hall Ashland Miss Gayleen Coch ran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Denney, 1414 South Stage road, Medford, became the bride of Wendell Hayes, 209 Almond st., Ashland, in a ceremony held Saturday, October 13, at 7 o'clock in the evening at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Wit nesses in Ashland. Mr. Hayes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Hayes, Glendale. W. D. Holman officiated at the single ring ceremony at tended by 35 relatives and friends. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a light blue knit suit with dark blue and white accessories. Following the ceremony a re ception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Dozier in Ashland. Cake, coffee and punch were served. Hostess Honors Wilda Fabrick; Wedding Day Set Mrs. Wilda Fabrick was holl ered at a shower party Tues day night at the home of Miss Gladys Goetz, 115 West Third street. Mrs. Fabrick and Paul Mat thews of Klamath Falls are to be married" November 1 at St. Paul's Episcopal church, Klam ath Falls. The Goetz home was decorat ed with autumn flowers, and table appointments were in orange and white. Games were the diversion of the evening. Mrs. Joseph Shattuclc Couple Weds In California Jacksonville Blessed Sacra ment Catholic church in West minster, Calif., was the setting recently for the wedding of Miss Deanna Mitchell to E. Joseph Shattuck. Miss Mitchell is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.'George Mitchell, Jacksonville. Mr. Shat tuck is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Shattuck, Westminster. The Rev. Philip Donahue per formed the afternoon double ring ceremony. The bride wore a ballerina length dress of hand clipped lace over satin fashioned with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt. Scallops accented the neck and hemlines. A heart-shaped head piece of lace held her shoulder length veil trimmed with lace and she carried a white orchid and stcphanotis on a white Bible. She was given in marriage by her father. Miss Jane Cooper was maid of honor.' She wore an aqua marine ballerina length dress of net over taffeta with match ing lace hat. She carried a cres cent bouquet of gold carnations. Norman Ridgeway served as best man. Organ wedding music was played by Mrs. Rose Kaspa zyk. Following the ceremony a re ception was held in the home of the bride's brother, Ray Mc- Clymonds. Assisting were the bride s nieces and the bride groom's sister. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Mitchell wore a dress of navy blue and white. Mrs. Shat tuck chose an outfit in navy blue and pink. The bride is a graduate of Jacksonville High school and California Air college. She was employed prior to her wedding by Western Airlines in San Fran cisco. The bridegroom was grad uated from Huntington Beach High school and served with the United States Navy. He is em ployed by Southern Edison com pany in Westminster. Following a wedding trip to Santa Barbara, the newlyweds are making their home at 13892 Pine street in Westminster. Lions, PTAPlan Eagle Point Party Eagle Point Eagle Point Lions and Elementary Parent- Teacher association will hold a Halloween party Wednesday, Oc tober 31, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Ire new grade school gym nasium for children in the first eight grades. Costume prizes will be award ed. Contributions for UN1CEF may be sent with the children. MAIN Medford Dinner Sponsored By Toastmistress Medford Toastmistress club's annual public relations dinner was held at the Roxy Ann grange Tuesday evening. Representativ es of the various service clubs and organizations attended. Guests of honor were Mrs. Earl Miller, wife of Mayor Miller, and Don McNeil, representing Jackson County Chamber of Com merce. Mrs. Wallace Martin, in her talk on education, emphasized that speech is the most import ant instrument of communica tion. "Are you listening?," was the title of Mrs. Clarence Wil son's talk. She explained that to be a good speaker a person must learn to listen first. Mrs. Effie Kurtz, using the title, "What Price Progress," spoke of the Celilo Indians losing their old fishing rights, and pos sibly the old way of living with the completion of the power plant and dam. Mrs. James Welch spoke on the Oregon wom en and United Nations, stating that all women should work to ward a common good "world peace." Two minute talks were given by ten members all relating to the main theme, public relations. Medford Students. At Pasadena School Miss Shirley E. Wright, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wright, 2345 Finley lane, and Miss Kathleen Caldwell, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Cald well. 715 Lozier lane, are at tending Pasadena college, Pasa dena, Calif. Miss Wright, a freshman at the college majoring in home economics, is a graduate of Med ford High school. Miss Caldwell, also a gradu ate of Medford High school, is sophomore at the college maj oring in education with a minor in religion. Pledged Portland Miss Shirley Lynch, junior biology major, was named by the dean of women's office as one of thirteen fall pledges of Delta Phi Gramma, campus social sorority, at Lewis and Clark college. She is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lynch, 139 Kenwood avenue. Osteopathic Unit Holds Meeting at Dierdorff Home Southern Oregon Osteopathic association auxiliary held a regu lar dinner meeting at the home of Mrs. G. A. Dierdorff, Thurs day, October 25. Officers for the organization for the year are Mrs. Milton Snow, president; Mrs. G. S. Jen nings III, vice president; Mrs. G. A. Dierdorff, secretary; and Mrs. A. A. Griffin, treasurer. '- During the evening envelopes containing Christmas seal pack ets, proceeds from which are used for Osteopathic research and student loans, were prepared for mailing. New member at the meeting was Mrs. Lionel Burton, Malin, Ore., and Mrs. C. A. Griffin of Boise, Idaho, was a guest. The next meeting will be held in Ashland at the home of Dr. E. L. Klein. Gills Here Mr. and Mrs. Ray W. Gill, Portland, were overnight guests Friday of Mrs. Gill's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sparks, Ideal court.
