His act made sure that no one had been left aboard the big plane. About 60 Attend Junior Red Cross Council Session The Jacksonville Junior Red Cross acted as hosts for the first Jackson County Junior Red Cross council meeting of the year in Medford High school on Oct. 16. A noon luncheon was served to about 60 people by Mrs. Lottie Bowman and her co workers. Leaders Attend - Among Red Cross leaders at tending were Mrs. Helen Wilson, executive secretary for Jackson county; Mrs. Pat Cannon, chap ter chairman for Josephine coun ty; Mrs. Esther Wells, Grants Pass; John A. Sutherland, Amer ican Fed Cross field leader; Mrs. John Day, chairman of the Jack son County Red Cross and her co-chairmen, Mrs. Joe Hearin and Mrs. Myers Jones; Mrs Frank Fairweather, volunteer field worker; Fred Segcrist, formerly director of Interna' tional Red Cross and at present representative with South Amer ica, the West Coast and Alaska as his territory. In addition, 35 members of the Junior Red Cross represented Eagle Point High, Crater High, St. Mary's High, Jacksonville High, and Hcdrick and McLoughlin Junior High schools. A regular business meeting was held. The items of general Importance discussed were the center pieces to be made for the Thanksgiving dinner at Camp White and the assembling of food for needy families in the area. The Medford Red Cross office will distribute the food Thanksgiving time. Member Drive Jacksonville will again take charge of the Red Cross member ship drive. Alter the business meeting a movie, entitled "We Serve", was shown and explained the differ ent Junior Red Cross activities. Louella Snyder from Jackson ville and Bud Quinney from Mc Laughlin left the meeting to participate in a TV program on KBES on the training camp ac tivities and first aid work.
