Officials of the state motor ve hicles department' said the new typewrit:., will mean licenses will r.ot have to be enclosed in acetate since names and other pertinent driver information ap pear in check-perforated type. The type cannot be erased without marring the face of the license. Officials expected that the new method will save the state about S28.000 a year. The typewriters were installed by Capitol Office and Equipment Company, Salem, on low bid. Bonn. Under the proposed bill, the county would be authorized to provide water supply, fire pro tection, sanitary and storm sew erage and disposal plants, parks and recreation, street and side walk improvement and street lighting. Petitions bearing the names of 10 per cent of the freeholders of a district would be required to request the county court or com missioners for a service area. An election would be held if investigation and engineering studies showed the service area to be feasible. Once the district was set up, the county court would assess district residents for costs of the services.
