Arranged by Mrs. C. R. Adam son, the 20 minute programs will be presented in the main church with 10 minutes between each program. The schedule is as follows: 5:30 p.m. Miss Lisbeth Shields, piano solos, and Mrs. Verne Wil son, a reading, "The Peppermint Tree A Fable:" 6 p.m. Randy Hugdahl and John Lusk, trom bone and piano; Dr J. Revival Meetings Start In Four Valley Revival meetings at four local churches will be held during the coming week. Starting this evening at the Church of Christ, 1056 Court st, Odell Purdy, evangelist of Amarillo, Texas, will hold a series of gospel meet- Rev. Odell Purdy ings at 8 p.m. daily through Sun day, Oct. 21. Sermon subjects will include: A Burden We Must Bear, Par ables of the Kingdom, Mistakes of a Successful Business Man, and others. Pilgrim Holiness Church, Central Point Meetings will begin Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Pilgrim Holiness church, corner of Pine at Sixth St., Central Point, at 7:30 p.m. and continue through Sunday, Oct. 28. The senior high MYF Rhymth- ic choir will present the Lord's Prayer at the concluding wor ship service in the chapel at 9:20 p.m. Johnson Honored By Local Church Youth The Advent Christian Youth fellowship of the Advent Chris tian church held a reception Monday, Oct. 8, at the social center of the church for Dave Johnson, Pacific Coast Advent Christian youth worker and Mrs. Johnson. The young people of the church decorated the rooms where the reception was held and the women of WH and FM society provided and served the food for the occasion. Johnson, who had arrived from Modesto, Calif., explained the plans and program for the church young people during the year and showed colored slides to illustrate his talk. After spending the night in Medford, the young couple left for Portland, Seattle, and sev eral Canadian points. 'COFFEE TIME' A "Coffee Time" will be held at the Congregational church Sunday between the 9:45 and 11 a.m. services. It will honor the group of new members who were received during the sum mer and new people who have started attending the church this fall. Trobough, associate minister of the First Methodist church, will be mod erator of a religious news tele vision program on KBES-TV starting Wednesday, Oct. 17. The program, to be 10 minutes in length, will be showing dur ing the afternoon. According to Mr. Trobough, the program wil consist of in terviews and giving the religious slant of the news. Church Workers To Be Dedicated At both morning services Sun day at the First Presbyterian church, the teachers and work ers in the Church school will be dedicated to their work for the coming year. There are more than 120 teachers working with a total enrollment of over 1100 stu dents in the church school. At the brief dedication serv ice, Dr. D. Kirkland West, pastor of the church, will speak. Mrs. James K. Hoey, superintendent of the church school will also share in the service. Among those to be honored at the service will be: superin tendents of the nursery depart ments, Mrs. J. S. Lydiard, Mrs. Larry Marsh, Mrs. J. F. Lance, and Mrs. Mae Rehart; kinder garten superintendents, M r s. Brandt Bartels, Mrs. L. Morgan, Mrs. Charles Snyder, and Mrs. Robert Smith; primary superin tendents, Mrs. A. J. Johannson, Mrs. Wayne Jamison, and Mrs. Stuart McQueen; junior depart in e n t superintendents, M r s. Grover Corum, and Mrs. Arnold Bohnert. Mrs. Edwin Jones, superinten dent, junior high department, Mrs. George Flanagan, superin tendent of the high school de partment, adult church school teachers Ward Lampkin, Mrs. Horace Thompson, and the Rev. W. Lee Gray, and Mrs. Bert Elliott, childrens' church super intendent will also be honored. At both morning services Dr. West will preach on the theme, "The Work of the Ministry." The Westminster and Chancel choirs will be under the direc tion of Lynn Sjolund. GUEST INSTRUCTOR Mrs. Grover Corum of the First Presbyterian church will be guest instructor at the "Here's How," a class for church school teachers, at the School of Chris tian Living, to be held on Oct. 21, at the First Methodist church between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. She will present the subject of "Crea tive Expression" by the use of the craft and arts, as can be used in the church school. Piper Minister E3r lift DP New Schedule At Nazarene Church Starts Sunday Morning worship service at the First Church of the Naza rene wil begin at 10:50 a.m. starting Sunday. The evening service is scheduled at 7 p.m. immediately following the 6 p.m. youth meetings according to a church announcement this week. The new schedule, voted by the church board last week, was necessary due to the increased number of families attending the church. Parents taking their children to the evening servic will be able to return homt earlier. The First Church of the Naza rene, 520 North Holly st., Med ford, has a Sunday school en rollment of 759 students. Guest Speaker Dr. Gideon B. Williamson, general superintendent in tht Church of the Nazarene, will ba guest speaker for both the morn ing and evening worship serv ices Sunday at the local church. Dr. Williamson, who occupies the highest office in the church, has the responsibility of the world wide program of his de nomination. Prior to his present position. Dr. Williamson was a pastor and college president. He has also written four books. Westminster Groups Plan Joint Meeting Sunday in Phoenix Westminster Fellowship groups of the First Presbyterian churches in Medford and Phoenix will hold a point meet ing at the Phoenix church, Sun day, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Speaker for the evening will be Gordon Raney of the Depart ment of Alcohol Education of the state of Oregon. The Rev. John Reynolds, assistant pastor of the Medford church, will lead the singing. Refreshments will be served by the Phoenix church.
