To Preside for
Temple Session
Mrs. Harry Bryant, Medford,
grand chief of the Pythian Sis
ters, will conduct grand temple
sessions at Bend, Ore., October
7. 8 and 9. The sessions will in
clude district reports of the past
year's activities, election of offi
cers for 1956-57, installation of
new officers, and general reports
and activities.

urday.
The Medford temple met last
Tuesday evening for a business
session. The refreshment com
mittee was Mrs. Morley Lamp,
Mrs. Arnold Motschenbacher and
Mrs. Mildred Tolle. The next reg
ular meeting will be October 16,
with the Pythian anniversary to
be observed.

Fall and Winter
Program Planned
By Junior Posse
Fall and winter events were
planned by Junior posse mem
bers at their October meeting
Thursday evening. The first will
be a "backward" Halloween
party scheduled for 7:30 p.m.,
Saturday, Oct. 27 at the posse
club house. The young men are
to dress as girls and the young
women as boys.
Members, parents and friends
are invited.
A contest to be conducted dur
ing winter meetings and to begin
at the November session, also
was planned. Questions will con
cern nomenclature and other in
formation on horsemanship and
horses and will be prepared by
Mrs. Iris Dodge, who also will
conduct the contest. Questions
and answers will be posted at
the club house for study by the
members and the contest will be
held between two teams of mem
bers.
The Junior group met Satur
day, Sept. 29 for a social evening
of dancing and games held at
the club house.

Dick' Arnold, freshman . at
Lewis and Clark college, has
been chosen a member of the
college choir. The student sang
last year in the Medford High
school double quartet and par
ticipated in a number of other
musical groups.
He is majoring in music edu
cation at the school. Young Arn

September 14 for the wedding
of Miss Patty Hall of Shady
Cove and Herbert Upchurch of
Finley, Okla.
The bride wore a Navy blue
suit with white accessories for
her wedding.

were the bride's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. T. R. Hall, and the
bride's sister and brother-in-law.

where the bridegroom is em

ceived this week by Mrs. Jen
nelle Moorhead, Eugene, profes
sor of health education for gen
eral extension division of the
Oregon State System of Higher
Education.
Mrs. Moorhead has been in
vited to Ordinary membership,
the highest grade of membership
to which any person may be el
ected. The society, founded in
1876, is under the patronage of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth
and the presidency of the Right
Honourable Lord Percy of New
castle.

cation. Professor Moorhead was

berd will conduct a school of in
struction during the regular
meeting of Reames chapter at 8
p.m. in Medford Masonic hall.
Alpha chapter, Ashland, will also
participate in this meeting.
The two chapters will hold a
potluck dinner at 6 o'clock in the
Masonic social hall. Reames chap
ter members will furnish hot
dishes; Alpha chapter members
salads and desserts.
