FOURTEEN MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Adlai Accepts Issue as By Ike; Seeks Keystone Votes En Route With Stevenson (UP Adlai E. Stevenson cam paigned by train and motorcade through Pennsylvania today try ing to nail down the Keystone state's 32 electoral votes. The Democratic presidential nominee will go to Pittsburgh tonight when he will deliver his "answer" to President Eisen hower's attack on the Democrats two days ago. Stevenson boarded the cam paign train at Hoboken, N. J., Tuesday night after disclosing his plans for tonight's speech. He said that in speeches at Cleveland and Lexington, Ky., Mr. Eisenhower said the election would turn on which party "has done more to help all citizens meet the problems of their daily lives." Accepts tht Iisue "President Eisenhower has de fined the issue," Stevenson said, "and I speak for every Democrat in the country when I say that we accept the issue as he de fines it." Stevenson had one of the most hectic days of his campaign Tuesday, touring northern New Jersey by automobile. "I feel as though I were try ing to use up a whole month's commutation ticket before sun down," the weary candidate re marked to one crowd as his long day neared an end. The congressman said that the Soviet's drive for world domin ation and complete world con trol is unlike all other conflicts between countries, races, or gov ernments in that the Communist ambition is total. He explained it as a triangle of economic ma terialism and political power held together by a creed of force the fanaticism of Communism. Common Ground But, he added, we need one common ground which all peo ple can understand and believe regardless of nationality, color and creed. "We need to point out to all the peoples of the world, in their own languages and in their own homelands, that the kind of gov ernment we are talking about is based upon their own beliefs and teachings," he stated. This is a way of reaching people of other lands that we haven't tried, he said. U.R) Pi lots and ground parties today searched for two downed air men, believed either lost or im mobilized with injuries in a rain sodden and rugged forest. The men, both colonels, were believed to have bailed out of their T33 jet trainer Monday night before it crashed and burned 23 miles south of here. Rescue leaders said they had "good reason" to believe the men were alive, and perhaps lost or injured and unable to reach help. An air search was hampered Tuesday by foggy weather. Ground searchers found it slow going in the wet, thick under growth.
