Before we were married a year ago, my wife told me she had had an affair with a married man a few years before we met. She was very honest and aboveboard about the whole thing. I can under stand how It happened and never doubted her in the slight est when she told me how much she regretted this mistake and how her feeling for this man is completely dead. Now, however, her job brings her into frequent contact with this man and I find myself be ing very annoyed about it. Lin da always openly tells me when she has seen him and I trust her implicitly because our marriage has been so happy in every way. I know I'm being unreasonable, but I feel that she should change her job if it throws her into contact with this man. I realize it's just a whim, but I think she ought to understand my feelings about this and give in. . Linda W. Bruce shows that he doesn't really trust me bv making this demand. This man and I now mean absolutely nothing to one another. We can meet without a flicker of interest or embarrassment. This man has straightened out the difficulties with his wife which plagued him a few years ago and is as happy ill his marriage as I am in mine. I have a wonderful iob. I love the work and am making out better financially than I could elsewhere. I don't want to make a change. We are saving for a home and family and it would be a shame to give up the money. If Bruce won't trust me now, what will happen in later years? The Council: These people are kidding themselves: Bruce by telling himself and Linda that he is unreasonable and his position is a mere whim and Linda by telling herself she is no longer attracted to the other man, but she is not free because he hovers over the background oi ner life as an embodiment of guilt and as an instrument to make her husband prove and prove again that he has forgiven her and trusts her. She tells her self that she is being honest when she carefully tells her hus band she has seen the man. but why should she make a point of doing this if he means "abso lutely nothing" to her? Linda's feeling that her hus band does not completely trust her may be a reflection of her own feeling that she does not entirely trust herself despite her good intentions. Bruce must have some inkling of these matters, but like Linda, he pushes the idea out of his mind as unworthy and prefers to call his justifiable feelings "unreasonable." Linda should certainly remove herself from all contact with her old flame. This is far more im portant than the additional money the couple can raise for their home. Further than that, the couple would do well to de velop their religious interests so that they can become more deen- ly rooted in acceptable moral standards. Bruce will be much more trusting of Linda when he feels that her future actions will be governed by somethine stronger than good intentions. . (Copyright 1956. (U.PJ FBI agents yesterday arrested Ray mond Farni, 27, Phoenix ware housaman wanted on a federal warrant charging him with kid naping. Officers said Farni was taken at the White Palms trailer court with "no trouble." His estranged wife, Rosie, one of his alleged kidnap victims, was with him. By KEN ENGLUND Hollywood U.R) I believe every thinking member of the movie industry is all for paring the main title on movies down to the essential credits. I think most of Hollywood's creative talent will be eager to see eliminated or relegated to an end title such bores as "hair styles by Peter Pan," "talcum powder supplied for the saddles by Mennen" or "without the Department of Bleeding Gums, Wyo., this picture could not have been made." However, most screenwriters like myself take exception to a campaign in Hollywood that centers around the idea that in a picture, and that the tech nicians should not.
