The rings are valued at $650, police said. ' Parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chez of Sacramento, Calif., are parents of a girl, Leslie Darlene, born Aug. 9. The next dance i Aug. 25 scheduled Saturday Collision Vehicles operated by William Freeman Scruggs 814 West Eighth St., and Harold Warren Smith, 2912 Buckshot Hill rd., were involved in an ac cident this morning at 11th and Grape sts., according to Medford police. Smith was cited for fail ure to yield the right of way, police said. Hospital .Patients Nicholas Briggs, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurance Briggs, 821 West second St., had a tonsillectomy at Rogue Valley (Community) hospital yesterday morning. Med ical patients at Osteopathic hos pital yesterday were James Perkins, Shady Cove, and Roger Converse, 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Converse, Ash land. Teenagers Apprehended Gary Ersel Campbell, 18, of Chula Vista, Calif., a 16-year-old boy and two girls, aged 15 and 14, all from Chula Vista, Calif., were apprehended by city police Thursday and confined to city jail on charges of being delin quent juveniles. Police said all four had run away from home. Campbell was released and the other three were remanded to juvenile authorities, police said. Auto Accidents Minor auto mobile accidents reported to city police . Wednesday included two-car collision at Main and Front sts., at 8:40 p.m. The cars were driven . by Raymond Eu gene Leak, Tulare. Calif., and George William Baker, Trail. No citations were issued. Jack Donald Watkins, Central Point, was cited by city police for not having an Oregon operator's li cense after the car he was driv ing struck an automobile owned by Mary Lois Sietz, 2502 Wal den place, which was parked at her residence. Cars operated by Jack Walter Puscas, Eagle Point, and Warner Whitham Howard, 1509 West Main st., collided at Main and Summit at 7:27 a.m. Thursday, police said. No cita tions were issued. The Rev. Lester Hoffman of Dorris, Calif., will officiate. Frederick Hearn was born July 23. 1939, at Hilt. Calif., the son of Lester and Freda Hearn, who now live in Ashland. He would have been a junior in the Ashland High school this year. At the time of his death he was employed by the forest ser vice at the Pleasant creek guard station. Other survivors include one brother, Jim Hearn, two sisters. Altha and Alice Hearn. all at home; grandparents Mr. .and Mrs. Charles Dailey, Ashland, and several aunts and uncles. Ashland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. Obituaries LEMUEL H. HUGHES Lemuel H. Hughes, 75, of route 3, box 236, Fern Valley rd., died yesterday at his home. Conger-Morris Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Medford Youth Held On Arson Charges A 17-year-old Medford boy was bound over to the grand jury this morning in district court on charges of second de gree arson. He was arrested Thursday by sheriff's deputies on charges of setting fire to a barn on Beall lane, and is in county jail after failing to post a $1,500 bond. Food Sale A cooked food and rummage sale will be held at the Shady Cove Cleaners by the Bethel of Job's Daughters Sat urday, Aug. 11. Cart Moved Medford police reported Thursday that about 10 cars had been pushed from their parking places into the street sometime early Thursday morn ing in the western-part of town. The cars were pushed back to the parking places, police said. No property was reported miss ing from any of the cars, police said. Permits Issued Eugene Ben nett has been issued a building permit to erect a $1,200 storage building at 333 South Grape st. Claude Saylor, 16 South Orange st., has been issued a permit to remodel his residence for $1,500, and Medford Neon sign company, 527 Putnam st. has been issued a permit to erect a sign at 608 East Main st. for $2,500. Returns Sheriff's Deputy Paul Bettiol returned from Cali fornia this morning with Walter Leroy Gregg, 27. of Bakers- field wanted here for parole vio lation. Returned here from Los Angeles was Donovan Keith Sprague, 25, of Bell Gardens, Calif. He is charged with obtain ing money under false pretenses.
