For SO League Encounters
Medford Cheney Studs con

baseball action this week end
needing only one victory to hang

maintain at least tiie pace they
have set since the initial SOL

revenge over Drain's Black Sox
last week. In beating the Sox the
Cheney contingent overcame a
iong standing jinx and the
Studs' accomplishment could be
a good omen for the future.
Bend Heads Batting
Medford. however, will be up
against a Logger gang improved
since the early season, riespite

week. Bend took over the team
batting leadership and the series
will mark the second in a row

Another series triumph is
practically a "must'' for the
Studs if they are to stay on top
of the heap and a retain their
bid for their first league crown.
The teams are still tightly
packed in the circuit and Bend,
at the bottom, is only 2' z games
away from Medford. The Log
gers could conceivably overtake
tiie Studs in the week end series.
This 1956 campaign is still any
body's battle.
