Mrs. Claud Garrett Standard Declares Quarterly Dividend San Francisco ill.? Stand ard Oil Company of California, which split its slock last May. declared an increased quarterly dividend of 45 cents a share Thursday payable Sept. 10 to stockholders of record on Aug. 10. R. G. Foliis. chairman of the beard, said the new rate is equivalent to 90 cents a share on the number of shares outstand ing before the stock split and represents a 20 per cent increase over the former dividend of 75 cents. Tiie new rate is based on 63.224.386 shares outstanding. Foliis said net income for the second quarter was S60.556.309 compared with S56.212.191 for the second quarter last year. Earnings per share increased from 89 cents last year to 06 cents for an equivalent number of shares this year. Sales and other operating rev enues. Emergency Ruled Following Storm Beaver Falls, Pa. ;ll.R: Se vere thunderstorms, backed by wind, rain and lightning, batter ed the Upper Ohio Valley Thurs day night. A school in Steu benville. Ohio, was struck by lightning. No casualties were reported. Edward C.
