Dulles Accused of Responsibility for Bloody Uprisings in Poland
Moscow 01. R) The Soviet
government and Communist par-,
ty today accused Secretary of
State John Foster Dulles of re
sponsibility for the "bloody"
Poznan riots in Poland
The government organ Izves
tia said the Poznan uprising fol
lowed "inflammatory" speeches
by Dulles and the appropriation
of $125,000,000 by Congress for
"subversion" of the Iron Curtain
countries.
Pravda, organ of the Com
munist party, lashed out at the
bloody provocations made by
American agents."
It accused Dulles of "gross fal
sifications" in alleging that the
denunciation of the cult of Stal
inism in the Soviet Union had
left Communist parties "in a
state of utter confusion."
Observers noted the markedly
strong tone of the two articles.
They said it now remains to b.e
seen whether the Russians, who
have been giving tourist visas
virtually for the asking, will
now close the gates to the un
precedented stream of Western
tourists and newsmen.
Izvestia accused the United
States of "oral responsibility"
for the Poznan rioting.
