The boy is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds, having blonde hair and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Council Forwards Airport Plans to CAA The Medford city council yes terday approved and forwarded plans for resurfacing the main runway at the Medford airport to the civil aeronautics adminis tration. The resurfacing project will start as soon as CAA approval has been received, according to City Manager Robert Duff. The project, which has been contracted to Central Heating, will reinforce the present run way so larger planes may land here. Federal funds will finance 55.98 per cent of the $44,275.50 project, which . includes engi neering and contingent fees. Rags Start Fire Grease cloths in the cupboard of the Elk's Temple kitchen were fired by spontaneous ignition yester day and caused slight damage to the cupboard. Two pumpers and an aerial ladder from the Med ford fire department were dis patched to the scene at 202 North Central ave. about 3:32 p.m., when smoke was reported in the kitchen. Washington (U.R) The White House said today Presi dent Eisenhower probably will receive a full report Saturday on final plans for the Republican National convention which starts Aug. 20 in San Francisco.. These plans are being whip ped Into shape today by some 40 GOP leaders meeting here. They are basedon the assump tion that the party will renom inate Mr. Eisenhower and Vice President Richard M. Nixon. But White House Press Secre tary James C. Hagerty flatly refused to clear up mounting questions on the hospitalized President's second term inten tions following his operation. Hagerty told reporters at Wal ter Reed hospital .where the President' is convalescing that Mr. Eisenhower knows the Re publicans are meeting today. Color TV Sets Expected To Reach 300,000 in '56 Chicago Hi.P.) A television manufacturer predicts that the industry will sell 300,000 color TV sets this year and as many as 1,000,000 in 1957. Robert W. Galvin, executive vice president of Motorola Inc., said at the same time that price tags on color receivers should work down to a S600-S900 range in 1956 and $500-$600 in 1957. At current prices of $700 $1,000, he said, color TV sales may reach 50,000 this year.
